  • Does eDermastamp really work?

    Does eDermastamp really work?

We sent our Editor and Chief to get stamped! He was very happy with the results.

It is with some hesitation that I do anything to interfere with my face. Creams yes, pills yes, needles in the face in the name of a more youthful complexion? I wasn’t so sure.

With images of Kim Kardashian’s blood soak vampire facial in my mind I headed to RUSH in Piccadilly, in my lunch break to meet Epsom Skin Clinic’s senior specialist Charlotte Botting. After asking what I thought my problem areas were, (all of it) she talked through the pros of the eDermastamp treatment and its benefits. I was assured that this was the treatment that would work best for me.

First off you have to understand why we start to look craggy after the age of thirty. Collagen, your natural youth serum and the compound that gives your skin its natural elasticity stops producing. Collagen’s job is to create mesh like bonds which keep the skin firm and stop it sagging. When we are younger skin is made up of around 80% collagen.

The eDermastamp process is rather simple I was told. Using a pen like device the specialist literally roles six fine precision needles across your entire face. The 1.5 millimetre needles cause controlled trauma under the skin, stimulating cell proliferation, which results in new collagen formation, the body’s natural healing chemical and youth maker, rushes to the area to repair the damage. It sounds horrific and painful – but in truth it isn’t.

First off, your face is thoroughly cleansed and carefully numbed with a cooling antiseptic and anesthetic cream. Charlotte, put me at ease with her friendly banter and chat, she tells me that she’s tried all of her treatments, I try to raise my eyebrows to question this (as she looks just incredible and not at all like a reality TV star on some obscure digital channel…), but I find the anesthetic has done its job rendering my eyelids somewhat useless. Then it begins. I brace myself; fear for the worst yet nothing more than a light humming vibrating saunters across my forehead.

If you’ve had microdermabrasion, this is actually less painful – and MDB isn’t painful at all.

Carefully my faced is circled, every inch was “stamped”, there were more tender moments, around the nose and above the eyes where it’s a little more uncomfortable, but that’s all it is – discomfort, nothing more that a light scratching, which lasts around 5 seconds.

After, I’m red and a little puffy, but I’m told this will go away in 24 to 48 hours, which it does. So it would make sense to not have any big events planned in the days after your treatment. As for any discomfort felt in the days following, I would say, no worse than mild sunburn for 24 hours and very mild bruising for up to three days after. Simply put it doesn’t hurt.

A week after, I start to see the signs that this actually works and within a week and a half I’m looking younger, fresher and tighter, but in a good way – not in a ‘I’m-about-to-appear-in-a-Celebrity-Big-Brother-quick-fill-every-inch-of-my-face-with-filler’ way.

Six weeks after the treatment and my skin still looked great – and tighter and I didn’t even have to stick to any daily skin regime. It almost felt naughty, like I cheated ten years off.

Gentle polling of friends and strangers, I ask how old I look – anything from 7 to 10 years younger than I actually am… My lunchtime facelift has been completely successful.

For £125 this could become my new skincare regime.

  • Top 5 Grooming Items for April 2019

Top 5 Grooming Items for April 2019

So it’s April and we are now firmly into the Spring season.

That means the days are getting longer and the weather is getting warmer. Time to step up the grooming routine boys, it’s hotting up! Here are our Top 5 Grooming Items for April 2019.

    1. Recipe for Men: Alcohol-Free Antiperspirant Deodorant (£15.00)

Now I know this seems a little pricey for something you put under your armpits but trust me here boys, this deodorant is worth every penny. This deodorant is not only alcohol-free and as such less damaging/drying to your skin but it’s the only thing that has ever stopped me sweating on the London Underground. In my opinion, anything that can keep you feeling fresh on the tube is worth the money. This product even stood up to our heatwave last year, so invest and trust me you won’t regret it. Also never left deodorant marks on my clothes, so a bonus!

    Available At: www.mankind.co.uk

    2. MAN CAVE: Anti-Pollution Face Serum (£10.00)

Now I have to admit I wasn’t really buying into the whole anti-pollution skincare bandwagon at first. It all seemed a bit gimmicky to me. Living in London though, the epicentre of UK pollution. I decided to give this anti-pollution serum by MAN CAVE a try. One because it’s affordable and two because I have always heard great things about this brand but never tried any of their products.

My impressions at first weren’t that great I’ll be honest. It nourished my skin but it didn’t really seem to do anything drastic. Then about 3 weeks into using this serum, I noticed that I wasn’t getting as many breakouts. Now, this was the only product I had added to my skincare regime at the time and so I can only presume, that this was the reason behind this. It has anti-irritation ingredients and is supposed to reduce the amount of stress your skin undergoes from environmental factors on a daily basis.

Seeing these effects happen on my skin over the course of using this product, I am now sold on the anti-pollution skincare bandwagon. This serum genuinely changed the way my skin was reacting to my environment and the result was much clearer skin. So I would definitely recommend this to any city dwellers out there, especially in London.

    Available At: www.mancaveinc.com

    3. Monu Skin: Vital Eye Gel For Men (£23.94)

I’ll be honest, I had never heard of Monu Skin before I received this product in a subscription box I was reviewing for you guys (the review will be up soon, so look out!). This product really stood out to me though and so I had to share it with you.

Essentially this is a lightweight eye gel, that is intended to wake up your eye area and reduce fatigue. What I loved about it, was that it was a product I could use in my morning and night routines but achieve different results. In the morning, the product would instantly reduce any puffiness around my eye area and make it look like I actually had 8 hours. Unlike the more realistic 6 on a good day. Then in the evening after a long day, it instantly soothed my eye area and took any fatigue from the day from my eyes. Over the course of using the product, I had people visibly notice that I looked more awake and that my eye area looked more youthful in general. So I would definitely give this one a go if you seem to be burning the candle at both ends lately like myself.

    Available At: www.monushop.co.uk

    4. Timeless Truth: Hydra-Intense Black Charcoal Mask (£5.25)

Who doesn’t love a good sheet mask? Quick, simple and instantly visible results. This Hydra-Intense Black Charcoal Mask from Timeless Truth is no exception to the rule. Leave the mask on for 15-20 mins and what you’re left with is a more plump and radiant complexion. The charcoal in the mask also helps to draw out impurities. So I don’t personally think we can go wrong with this one.

Pro-tip: get the excess serum from the mask and sachet after application and apply to the face and neck. You don’t want to be wasteful after all.

    Available At: www.beautybelle.ie

    5. PETER THOMAS ROTH: 10% Glycolic Solutions Moisturizer (£35.50)

Last on the list for this month, is an entry from skincare giant PETER THOMAS ROTH. There is no doubt that this brand is known for its high-quality products and these products having a high percentage of active ingredients. This moisturiser is no exception. With 10% Glycolic Acid, this product gently exfoliates away those dead skin cells that lead to a dull complexion. Following using this product for a good 4/5 weeks, what I noticed was that my skin looked more radiant and my complexion was much more even.

I personally used this moisturiser as part of my nighttime skincare routine, as I didn’t want the acid reacting to any UV exposure but always find what works best for you with skincare. If using this during the daytime though, I would definitely recommend using an SPF. Just to be on the safe side with any sensitivity.

Also when using this product at first, you may experience a slight tingling sensation. What I learnt, was that my skin was just getting used to the active ingredient (Glycolic Acid) being present on my skin and this tingling went away by the end of week one. If your skin does react badly to this product though or you are prone to sensitive skin, then it may be best skipping this one.

With new products launching on a regular basis, this brand is surely one to look out for as we head into Spring 19. Driven by the notion of simple, no-fuss grooming, that yields exceptional results. 2. WAR PAINT. for Men

Created as a means of combatting the founder’s body dysmorphia, WAR PAINT. for Men has become more than just a grooming brand. It has become a hub of information for men who are curious about makeup but who don’t feel comfortable going to their local Boots. The brand is all about empowering men to look their best and to do so with products specifically tailored to their skin. With all products being vegan, cruelty-free and made in the UK, we think it’s definitely worth giving their products a try.

Check out the brand on warpaintmensmakeup.com

    Our Top Picks:

    Foundation (£24.00)

    Bronzer (£19.00)

    Powder Brush (£7.99)

    3. skyn ICELAND

Having lived in a Nordic country myself, I really feel akin to the ethos behind this brand. Founded by Sarah after her time spent in Iceland, following a battle with critical-illness induced by high-stress levels. She noticed the longevity of the Icelandic people and their vibrant healthy skin, realising the pristine and unpolluted nature of the land was a primary factor in this.

Having lived in Sweden myself, I can completely relate to this. Last summer my skin went crazy in the London summer heat. I had a multitude of factors adding stress to my life and my skin was having none of it. During the gap between my tenancies in London, I went back to the south of Sweden with my family and my skin cleared up within a few days. By the end of my week there, it was glowing and I do genuinely think, that this is due to the lack of pollution in these countries.

The brand itself centres around skin care, that is designed to treat the daily damages caused by stress and uses the remarkable natural resources of Iceland to do so. It is definitely worth grabbing a few products and checking them out on their website skyniceland.com.

    Our Top Picks:

skyn ICELAND: Pure Cloud Cream ($55.00)

skyn ICELAND: Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels ($30.00 for 8 pairs)

skyn ICELAND: Hydro Cool Firming Face Gels ($35.00 for 8 patches)

  • Best 5 Grooming Items of the Month

Best 5 Grooming Items of the Month

So it’s safe to say winter didn’t say goodbye in January. With snow and icy winds hitting the UK, our skin is definitely taking a battering. That’s why this month’s list, is all about protecting our skin and ensuring we go into spring looking fresh!

    1. STARSKIN: The Leading Man Mask

Sheet masks have been popping up all over the place lately and there’s a very good reason, that brands are jumping on this K-Beauty trend. On average a sheet mask has a full bottle of serum/essence infused into it and what this means is that our skin gets a hit of moisture, that our daily moisturiser couldn’t even dream of giving. Now although there are many options on the market, our personal favourite right now is The Leading Man Mask by STARSKIN beauty. This mask is not only aimed specifically at men but also uses bio-cellulose technology to hydrate, smooth, energise, firm and refine the skin. Basically, it leaves you feeling red carpet ready!

    Available at www.debenhams.com (£8.50)

    2. Recipe for Men: Anti-Shine Moisturiser

This isn’t the first time, that Recipe for Men have appeared in one of our top grooming lists and there’s a good reason why! The Scandinavian skincare company don’t throw any punches when it comes to their products. Creating innovative formulas that not only get the job done but do so with effortless style. Their Anti-Shine Moisturiser is no different! This powerful cream will not only hydrate your skin, protecting it from the last of the winter weather but it will hold the not so dewy tube glow at bay. Keeping you looking fresh and hydrated all day long.

    Available at www.mankind.co.uk (£30.00)

    3. Kiehl’s: Buttermask for Lips

Now lip balms are a thing of mystery for many men. We put them on our lips and they somehow still end up looking like the surface of Mars by the end of the day. So many would think they are basically, useless. The reasoning behind this though, is that many lip balms require you to re-apply on regular intervals throughout the day. Think about it our lips come in contact with food and drink all day long and of course our lip balm is going to wear off. This is where Kiehl’s Buttermask for Lips comes in though, instead of being a balm it is a thicker creamy consistency. Now what this means is that the product will stay longer on the lips, providing that necessary hydration and protection our lips need in the winter months. We recommend applying once in the morning, after lunch and before bed for maximum effect. It’s time to keep those crusty lips at bay boys!

    Available at www.debenhams.com (£22.00)

    4. Björn Axén: Short Hair Wax

Another Scandinavian brand here and Sweden’s strongest hair care brand to boot. We might as well learn from the Vikings how to survive the winter months, right? Björn Axén’s Short Hair Wax has been a firm favourite of mine since my year abroad in Sweden. This product kept my hair in place through the harsh conditions of a Swedish winter and I’ve sworn by it since, getting some every time I head back to the country. Now a short disclaimer here, this product is only intended for short hair. So if you’re more follicly endowed than me, than this product is probably not for you. The brand does cater to lots of different hair lengths and types though, so check them out and I’m sure you’ll find something to suit you and keep your hair picture perfect.

    Available at www.shopping4net.co.uk (£13.00)

    5. LAB SERIES: BB Tinted Moisturiser SPF 35

Again another old favourite here. LAB SERIES’ BB Tinted Moisturiser is something initially I didn’t get on with. It was my first step into the world of male make-up when I was at university and well honestly, I made a pig’s ear of it the first time I tried to use it. After looking a bit more into it and admittedly asking a few female friends, I learned how to use it properly and I was pretty damn impressed with the results. My skin tone was evened out and due to the universal shade, there was no visible indication that I had anything on my face. it left me with a naturally glowing complexion and it’s been in my bathroom cabinet ever since. Now I know you’ll all now be curious about how to avoid my initial mishap and make this product work for you. Male make-up can be daunting to the newcomer and my first piece of advice is to remember this is not just a moisturiser! If you apply this product as liberally as your daily moisturiser, you ain’t gonna be pretty and it’s gonna be pretty obvious this ain’t your natural skin. The key with this product is to use a pea size amount and buff it into your skin. If you want to go the extra step, buy a blending brush and it will leave your skin looking flawless! Not to mention it has SPF, so it even helps protect you from the sun and yes there is still sun damage in winter, even though it isn’t scorching outside…

    Available at www.mankind.co.uk (£38.00)

Here are our top 5 picks for starting the year fresh.

    1. Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque

This has been a firm favourite since my time at Newcastle University, keeping my skin looking fresh and glowing even after the wildest night out in the toon. So you can tell it does the job! The turmeric and cranberry in this masque evening skin tone and the crushed cranberry seeds lightly exfoliate. Resulting in a fresh and glowing complexion, making you look more like you’ve had a week away than a night out on the lash.

    £34.00 for 100ml at www.kiehls.co.uk

    2. Clinique For Men Moisturising Lotion

Definitely not a new product but an absolute staple to any man’s grooming regime. This moisturiser is a no-fuss and lightweight miracle, restoring balance and moisture to the skin. Apply before bed and in the morning after cleansing, to maintain a healthy glow to the skin and banish those dark circles for good!

    £26.00 for 100ml at www.clinique.co.uk

    3. ALTR Face Fix – Half and Half

So it’s 2019 and the notion of make-up being only for women is well and truly dead! Gentlemen I give to you Face Fix, a concealer designed and formulated for male skin. Now if the moisturiser isn’t keeping those dark circles at bay, this product is a must. It’s lightweight, easy to apply with just your ring finger and more importantly, it’s conveniently packaged in a small tin to take with you on the go. We recommend the Half and Half version, in order to brighten your under-eyes and cover any pesky Christmas chocolate spots.

    £13.99 for 15g at www.altrformen.com

    4. Recipe For Men – Ultra Sensitive Facial Cleanser

When it comes to cleansing your face, you have to find the right balance. We need to clean off the dirt but not damage our skin in the process. This is where Recipe For Men’s Ultra Sensitive Facial Cleanser comes in. Arctic juniper berries help reduce inflammation and redness, while cucumber and aloe vera removes impurities. The result is fresh and clean skin, that doesn’t look like you’ve just taken a sanding block to it. Use twice daily for maximum results.

    £18.00 for 100ml at www.mankind.co.uk

    5. American Crew Daily Conditioner

Here’s one for your hair! The mornings are still dark and the weather is well… miserable. So what better way to start the day than with a refreshing splash of American Crew’s Daily Conditioner. This lightweight formula nourishes your hair, reversing the effects of the harsh winter weather and its menthol properties awaken your senses, making you feel fresh and ready to start the day.

    £14.20 for 450ml at www.mankind.co.uk

  • Thinking of getting your lips filled? Check this advice out first before you go under the needle

    I’m not happy Maurice…

Guys all over are getting their lips filled … but there are eight things you need to be aware of before getting your pillows plumped.

Worryingly, anyone can buy hyaluronic acid gel and inject it into someone’s lips.

This is because there are no laws in the UK that regulate people who carry out non-surgical cosmetic procedures, such as lip fillers. The Professional Standards Authority runs a Government-backed programme called Accredited Registers which lists trusty professionals that treat their patients safely.

    Embed from Getty Images

    1. We suggest everyone always chooses a safe practitioner from one of our Accredited Registers – http://www.professionalstandards.org.uk/find-practitioners/practitioner/non-surgical-cosmetic-practitioners

    2. Professionals should ask questions like the patients’ age, full medical history and discuss all risks before agreeing on an injection.

    3. Nobody should pressure a patient into having lip fillers done there and then. Patients need time before making a decision.

    4. Ask for copies of before and after photographs. It’s a good idea to have photos of the patients smiling and frowning, too.

    5. Patients should note down which hyaluronic acid product is being used for their lip fillers as well as the clinician’s name.

    6. Patients should ask to see the product before. Ask the person giving the lip fillers to show them the hyaluronic acid in its unopened packaging, before injection.

    7. There should be no problems in booking a follow-up and asking about the treatment or any complications if they occur.

    8. Never agree to have lip fillers done at homes, at ‘parties’ or exhibitions, or in places that aren’t clean & clinical.

  • Here’s why your breath stinks in the morning

Here’s why your breath stinks in the morning

Even the dog leaves the room

    Kjerstin_Michaela / Pixabay

Have you ever wondered why your breath is foul in the morning? Well here’s the surprising reason why it’s stinky and what you can do about it.

Bad breath – morning or otherwise is essentially caused by the millions of bacteria that you have in your mouth – when you sleep you produce less saliva, which means there’s more of them around your mouth.

Keciaf Byer on Quora broke it down for us,

“The key to understanding why our breath smells first thing in the morning is to first understand why it doesn’t smell the rest of the time. As we go about our usual daylight business, bacteria are at work breaking down all the amino acids, proteins, and other chemicals left behind in our mouths from our last meal. This process produces volatile sulphur compounds (VSCs) like hydrogen sulphide, dimethyl sulphide, and methyl mercaptan, which are responsible for the funk.

“In our waking hours, our own saliva washes away the bacteria before they can do their smelly damage; when we fall asleep, our saliva production calls it a night, too. In the absence of much saliva, the VS C-causing bacteria run wild, and the sulfuric compounds build up until their grand unveiling in the morning.

“It’s a simple equation—mouth plus bacteria minus saliva equals yuck”

So what can we do about it?

Chinmoy Hazarika, who is a Dentist, gave a few suggestions on Quora to help you awake feeling a little more humane.

    Brush your teeth

Make sure you actually brush your teeth before you go to bed – even if you’re really, really drunk…

    Flossing

Flossing “is a good way to keep plaque and tartar buildup at bay. Oral-BColgate etc manufacture good dental flosses that help clean areas between your teeth that normal tooth brushing may miss out”.

    Mouth Rinse

“Is another good way, though it works as an add-on to your mechanical method of brushing and flossing”. Check out Amazon’s range of mouthwashes here.

Have a glass of water by your bed

Keciaf Byer also suggests having a glass of water by your bedside.
So apart from that, the best thing to do is either have a pack of fresh mints by your bedside to pop the moment you wake up or keep your mouth clamped down until you can reach the bathroom to give your pearly whites a good going over with your toothbrush.
  • REVIEW | Hair Replacement Hub, Hair today, gone tomorrow, back again today

OK let me start off by saying that this is a personal journey I took, and obviously, this may not be for everyone, but for anyone dealing with hair loss, this is a viable option.

So, what am I talking about? I’ll say it, the dreaded Toupee word. However this is not the sort of thing that looks like an Ikea rug strapped to your head, this is a sophisticated hair replacement system. Now I’ve been dealing with thinning hair for best part of 8 years, and 3 years ago I decided to bite the bullet and shave my head down to grade zero.

Initially, I tried my damn hardest to rock the shaved head look and on the surface, I tried to portray confidence and not giving a s**t about my rapidly reduced hairline. But secretly I hated it and loathed having to re-shave my head every few days so that my natural 12 hairs, on the top of my head, wouldn’t show through.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/BXn-hpkgprj/?hl=en&taken-by=phoenix0982

I spoke to psychologist Emma Kenny about the psychological effect that hair loss can have on some people. She told me, Losing hair can be unbelievably traumatic and can make the individual feel unattractive and lead to low self-esteem. Hair is a hugely defining part of who we are and losing that aspect of our personality is painful. Being able to maintain and retain our image isn’t about vanity, it is about self-protection and helps to encourage positivity

Obviously, some people really don’t care about hair loss and kudos to you for rocking that look friends, but to me, it was not a pleasant experience. When I was in my early to mid-20s I’d had every style and colour under the sun, and I loved the process of doing my hair in a morning before I went out. By 26 I noticed that my front hairline was starting to not be in the place it used to be. At first, I didn’t think anything of it, but as the years went on, I was having to spend longer in a morning styling my hair to hide the fact it was thinning. I even tried those hair fibres, but I was constantly worried that I would get caught in the rain and they would all come tumbling out.

After shaving my head down to a grade zero I resigned myself to the idea that I wasn’t going to get it back, while the idea of a hair replacement system had been on the edge of my mind, I’d heard that these things could be horrendously expensive, with some systems setting one back nearly £2000, so I obviously pushed that idea to the back of my head, secretly hoping that maybe in 10 years, the price wouldn’t be that expensive.

Every so often I would check some of the companies out, but still, the price made me think twice, but then I spotted a company near where I live that I hadn’t heard of before. I thought, maybe an independent company might be a little less expensive, especially if they didn’t have a bigger business name behind them…and so I met Tom Fish, owner of Hair Replacement Hub based in Telford. After initially emailing him about the price, I was pleasantly surprised to find out he only charged £450, with no hidden charges.

So I spoke to him and immediately felt at ease, because he told me straight away he actually wore one of the systems himself. He was friendly, yet professional, and arranged a face to face meeting with me for a consultation. I wanted to ask him literally everything because this was still an investment to me. How could he charge so much less than some of the other companies? He was kind enough to come and visit me at home, and straight off I had to remind myself that he was himself wearing one of these systems, because I couldn’t clock it at all. It was only when I practically had my nose up against his head did I finally believe him.

We spoke for over an hour, and I wanted to ask him about his experiences. He told me he’d started losing his hair at the young age of 21, and had paid nearly £2000 for one of these pieces, and he had felt this was way too expensive, so four years ago he started his own business. Determined that other guys who experience hair loss shouldn’t have to pay through the nose. During my own research, I had seen some of the pictures from other companies based around the UK that did kind of give me pause for thought. They looked a little too fake for my liking, almost like it was plonked on the head, and a little unnatural, and in some cases the colour was way off.

Tom took his time to show me pictures of many of his clients, these systems all looked absolutely amazing and natural. Tom told me he used human hair in the systems and an “ultra-thin skin” base so that it looks as natural as possible. I kept scrolling through. Getting more and more comfortable in the decision I was making, and then I had a shock. A guy I recognised was among the pictures…I’d had no idea he even had one. I was suitably impressed. I asked why Tom worked alone, and his response was great. He wanted it to feel like a more personal approach, because he knew exactly the nerves one could feel walking into a salon when there are other people about, so he works from home, or will visit clients so that it’s just a one on one experience and having been through it all himself, he knows that for the people who choose to have one of these systems, the privacy he affords helps put people at ease.

At the time of consultation, I still had a shaved head, so Tom asked that I let it grow out a bit first so he could get the best match and style for me.

In the meantime, I contacted the guy I recognised, Hari and asked him about his experiences with Tom and Hair Replacement Hub. He told me,

“Tom has literally changed my life, I’d spend about 90mins every morning styling my hair to hide my baldness and now it takes all of 10 minutes max! He’s given me hair confidence that I have always wanted. I know when I leave the house my hair is secure and unnoticeable which has lifted a huge weight off my shoulders after reading all the myths about hair systems and lastly, Tom inspired me not just from his hair systems but for Tom being Tom, To know that a man who actually wants to help people and has so much passion for his job is out there really restores your faith in humanity”.

Fast forward 3 weeks, after letting my natural hair grow out a bit so that the system could be blended properly, I decided to visit Tom in Telford where he keeps a small home studio. He plopped me in the chair and turned on some music for me. He showed me the system, and it was an exact match to my hair colour, so we were already off to the promising start. I felt at ease as Tom styled the sides of my hair to help create a template for where the system would sit.

He also trimmed my facial hair, and washed and practically massaged my head, before shaving the centre-right down so that the bond would adhere securely. Once the system was on I looked like a mad professor, but Tom being the professional that he is, expertly started to cut and shape the system to fit in with what I’d asked for. I wanted it longer than usual on top because I’ll be damned if I go three years without hair to then not whip it back and forth once I have it again.

But this strange feeling came over me, I’d been so long without a full head of hair, I was kind of overcome with not only gratitude to Tom but a sense of relief that I was me again.  Another great service Tom provides besides the re-bonding and restyling of existing hair, which has to be done usually every 3-6 weeks, he also sells the products that are needed to keep the system in tip-top shape. The systems are fairly durable, and won’t need to be replaced often. Most last around 8 to 12 months depending on lifestyle, with even a very active person getting a solid 8 months out of them. But going back to Tom reduces the cost down, by £100 for the replacement

I cannot express how friendly, and professional Tom is. He knows what he’s talking about, and he knows how it can feel to lose hair, so he wants every person who goes to him to feel 100% better about themselves, and I’ll tell you what, I certainly do.

  • 8 things you need to check before getting your lips filled

    I’m not happy Maurice…

Guys all over are getting their lips filled … but there are eight things you need to be aware of before getting your pillows plumped.

Worryingly, anyone can buy hyaluronic acid gel and inject it into someone’s lips.

This is because there are no laws in the UK that regulate people who carry out non-surgical cosmetic procedures, such as lip fillers. The Professional Standards Authority runs a Government-backed programme called Accredited Registers which lists trusty professionals that treat their patients safely.

    1. We suggest everyone always chooses a safe practitioner from one of our Accredited Registers – http://www.professionalstandards.org.uk/find-practitioners/practitioner/non-surgical-cosmetic-practitioners

    2. Professionals should ask for the patients’ age, full medical history and discuss all risks before agreeing an injection.
    6. Patients should ask the person giving them lip fillers to show them the hyaluronic acid in its unopened packaging, before injection.
    7. There should be no problems in booking a follow-up and asking about treatment of any complications, if they occur.
    8. Never agree to have lip fillers done at homes, at ‘parties’ or exhibitions, or in places that aren’t clean & clinical.

  • The easy way to find out what skin type you are

The easy way to find out what skin type you are

I was recently asked a question by one of my readers that I am hearing a lot recently. “How do I determine my skin type?” Many people will go through life having no clue about their skin but because we are all unique knowing your own skin type is crucial to knowing what your skin requires to look its best! Identify your skin type may seem difficult at first but is actually pretty easy. Just follow my guide.

Pay attention to your eye area, cheeks and T-zone. Look at the texture and tone of the skin around those areas. How does it look and feel?

    Normal Skin
A balanced oil and water content will leave your skin feeling evenly textured, smooth and toned all over. If you have this then your skin will be referred to as ‘Normal.’ All the other skin types will hate you, as it is the easiest skin type to look after.

    Combination Skin
This skin type is probably the most expensive type, as you will require different products to treat different areas of your face. Usually your cheeks are dry while your T-zone is oily and your temper is aggravated. Good luck.

    Normal To Oily Skin
Say hello to my skin type. Most days I can see my own reflection in my forehead. That’s right is you have normal to oily skin then you may like shiny and greasy and pores and blemishes may be (will be) more visible.

    Normal To Dry Skin
That feeling you get when you leave a face mask on for too long, if you feel like that without the aid of a lazy face mask you have normal to dry skin. You may also notice fine lines and rough, flaky patches.

    A FINAL NOTE
No matter your skin type do not panic, there’s a lotion or potion to suit everybody! If you have any questions regarding your own personal skin type or what products you should be leaving leave a comment below or tweet me @StephenCroweFit and I will do my best to get you a hasty reply. You’re very welcome.

  • Grandparents are outraged by LUSH’s saucy suggestion

Grandparents who bought their granddaughter a present from Lush were not happy when they read the saucy instructions

Yikes. A couple from Essex who bought their 8-year-old granddaughter a shower gel pressie from LUSH were left red-faced because the instructions on usage weren’t “age appropriate”.

    The product’s instructions read,

“If you really don’t know how, then we suggest you find someone you really like and invite them into the shower with you to demonstrate”.

Speaking to The Sun, Richard explained…

“My wife spends quite a bit of money in Lush and bought two sets for my two grandchildren. It didn’t say anything about age restrictions or anything. They opened their bits and pieces on Christmas night, and Macy undid her one. It was called ‘Little Snow Fairy’ which to me indicates it’s ideal for kids.

“I happened to pick up the bottle and was reading aloud how to use it.”

Well, all was not happy in the Essex household. Richard phoned Lush. Speaking to the manager he said,

“I told him, ‘Innuendo amongst adults is fine, but when you’ve got to explain to an eight-year-old what it means, I think that’s wrong.’”He said I wasn’t the first person to complain about this – they’ve had four or five complaints over the past couple of years about it, but nothing’s been done about it. And he actually said this batch is aimed at children.””He did apologise and offered me two free bath bombs, but I said it wasn’t about that – I wanted their labelling to be changed.”

    Kill joys.
