Gay Dating | What does “cut/uncut” mean?

One of the options you’ll find on many dating / hook up apps to help describe yourself to would-be partners is a question about whether you’re cut or uncut.

Sometimes, “cut” can mean how well defined your muscles are, but in this case, they are talking about your cock.

Simply put, Cut is for those guys who don’t have a foreskin, whilst Uncut is for guys who still have their foreskins or “intact”.

    How common is being “cut”

    What does uncut mean

Across Europe and many parts of the world, guys are still intact, whereas in North America up to 75 per cent of guys are circumcised – usually for no medical reasons.

However, some men have to have circumcisions due to a foreskin that doesn’t roll back, which can make erections and intercourse quite painful. It can also affect how well you are able to clean the head of his penis.

Of course, some religious people are circumcised such as Jewish and Muslim males.

There is a growing call for non-medical circumcision in young boys and men to be treated in the same way as Female Genital Mutilation.

In a recent poll conducted by THEGAYUK.com over 70 per cent of people, who voted, said that non-medical circumcision should be made illegal.

Currently, in the UK, the practice of religious or cultural FGM is illegal, while the religious or cultural circumcision for males is still sanctioned by the Government. It is thought that less than 20 per cent of males are circumcised in the UK.

  • What does RuPaul say at the end of Sissy That Walk?

What does RuPaul say at the end of Sissy That Walk?

Have you ever noticed at the end of RuPaul’s greatest bop, “Sissy That Walk” that something is said, in a childlike voice?

It got us wondering what on earth RuPaul is saying at the end of the song, once the music has stopped. In fact, it always comes as little bit of a shock – and a tab bit creepy.

Strangely, however, it only appears on the album recording of the song and not on the accompanying music video.

The song is deemed one of RuPaul’s most iconic after her debut single “Supermodel (You’d Better Work)” unfortunately unlike “Supermodel” it didn’t chart on the Billboard 200 or the UK top 100. The song was written by RuPaul and Lucian Piane and released back in 2014.

It might surprise you to know that RuPaul’s highest-charting song in the UK is actually a duet with Sir Elton John. Who Knew?!

They duetted on “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” in 1994 helping RuPaul secure her only top 10 hit single in the UK.

So what does she say at the end in “Sissy That Walk”?

There are quite a few forum and posts dedicated to that very question.

Some people think that she is saying “mmm hello” while others have suggested that she’s saying “Mihoyyy”

So we asked the queen herself.

    We’re still waiting.

Come on Ru! Let us know, what are you saying?

Alen said, “He was living with his brother in Nashville,”

“He’s been suffering for many years with various aches and pains. He just wouldn’t talk about it much.”

Since the news of his death, thousands of tributes have been made to the star with the star’s name trending on Twitter.

The star’s first major hit was “Tutti Fruit” in 1956 and that song spured an enduring career that spanned 15 studio albums and 37 singles.

His last major hit was “Bama Lama Bama Loo” which was released in 1964 and reached number 20 in the UK.

    Complicated history with sexuality.

Throughout the years, Little Richard’s relationship with his sexuality was complicated having come out as gay and then denouncing his homosexuality due to his alliance with religion.

He also married a woman, Ernestine Harvin, and later adopted a son.

In 1995 he admitted that he knew he was gay all his life however he later stated that he was “omnisexual”.

In 2017, the last time he spoke publicly about sexuality he said, on the  Three Angels Broadcasting Network that LGBT+ identities were an “unnatural affection” that goes against “the way God wants you to live”

Netflix has epic clap back to tweet complaining about too many gay characters

We love it when a company claps back, especially when it’s to someone who thinks there’s too much representation of minority communities. It’s the kind of allyship that our community really needs.

Whoever is controlling Netflix’ official Twitter account has some sass and has managed to put one raging viewer in their place.

It all happened after a user, apparently sick of seeing one too many “unnecessary gay characters” from Netflix, shared a meme demonstrating the force-feeding of gay characters onto audiences.

The Tweet was captioned “every damn series”.

The original tweet, from user @AdamSB___ managed to wake up the anti-gay trolls and unearthed some truly worrying comments from other users agreeing with the original Tweet and using homophobic language. Twitter remains a platform where homophobic is rampant, with thousands of anti-gay slurs used on a weekly basis.

However, the official Netflix account wasn’t having any of it and snapped back, “sorry you have yet to realize that every gay person is very necessary”.

The response from Netflix quickly overtook the original message with love and admiration from users and was retweeted over 53,000 times.

The Walking Dead star, Daniel Newman even responded to the Tweet saying, “Best ever” to Netflix.

Even Amazon’s Prime Video’s account got in on the love in for Netflix

    Corporate allyship that actually matters

Netflix’ response goes beyond slapping a rainbow on a company logo for pride month.

In 2019 we reported how nearly 40 per cent of companies who use the pride flag do not give back or pay forward to any LGBT+ groups, charities or organisations.

This week (4th May – 10th May) it’s Deaf Awareness week in the UK. So here’s how you say some important LGBT+ terms in British Sign Language.

A few years ago, Deaf Direct produced a video, just before Pride season, which included various British Sign Language signs to help everybody get to grasp with a few LGBT+ terms.

The video was created by Deaf Direct to “celebrate the diversity of our community”.

If you’ve ever wanted to know how to sign the words lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer, this simple video helps you say those words perfectly.

William and Simon, who both appear in the video explain that in the UK we use BSL – rather than ASL (American Sign Language) and they take us through the gestures you need to make to say, in BSL, a few terms which identify LGBT+ folks.

    The words they recreate are:

    Lesbian

    Gay

    Bisexual

    Leather

    Bear

    Drag

  • Are there any gay saunas open during the Covid-19 lockdown?

Are there any gay saunas open during the Covid-19 lockdown?

As with many businesses the UK’s government has said that all non-essential shops and venues open to the public should not be open during the lockdown to “flatten the curve” of the coronavirus.

Since the last week of March 2020, many businesses and services that were open to the general public across the UK have been ordered to shut including many shops and venues deemed not essential.

The ruling applies to massage parlours, gyms and other health resorts – so unfortunately if you’re looking for an open gay sauna, you’ll be hard-pressed to find one open – and if you do, it’s most likely operating outside of the Government’s guidelines.

When can we expect gay bars and saunas to reopen?

The Government is expected to review its lockdown policy on the 7th May – and will make decisions about the types of businesses which will be allowed to reopen.

It’s unlikely however that gyms and health spas will be high on the priority list for the Government to allow opening.

Bars and clubs are also low on the priority list of business expected to be allowed to open once the UK’s lockdown is eased.

TODAY IN LGBT HISTORY | 1933: Nazis start the destruction of lesbian and gay culture in Germany

Today in 1933 the Nazis started their war against the gay and lesbian community in Germany by confiscating materials from the Institute of Sexual Science. The institute’s works were destroyed as part of the regime’s censorship programme, by youth brigades.

The organisation was opened in 1919 and key in collecting and collating data concerning sexuality, gender and psychology.

The Nazis burned the books and documents on the streets of Berlin as part of their censorship policy.

Students organized by the Nazi party parade in front of the building of the Institute for Sexual Research in Berlin prior to pillaging it on May 6, 1933. They confiscated its books, photos and periodicals for burning. The Institute had been established by Magnus Hirschfeld, a Jewish homosexual doctor, as a center for sexology. It provided counselling and other services, and sought rights for homosexuals and transsexuals.

The institute was opened by Magnus Hirschfeld and his collaborator Arthur Kronfeld in 1919.

Magnus is also famous for coining the term transsexualism. The institute also employed transgender people. Pioneering modern sex reassignment surgeries were offered here in 1930.

  • ALAN CUMMING | Male circumcision should be treated the same way as FGM

ALAN CUMMING | Male circumcision should be treated the same way as FGM

Actor Alan Cumming has slammed the routine mutilation of males, saying that male circumcision should be treated in the same way as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).

Speaking in The Guardian the actor said that the removal of the foreskin should be treated in the same way that female genital mutilation is treated.

    [totalpoll id=”117660″]

Currently, in the UK, the practice of religious or cultural FGM is illegal, while the religious or cultural circumcision for males is still sanctioned by the Government. It is thought that less than 20 per cent of males are circumcised in the UK.

In the US, circumcision is a far more widespread operation usually performed on babies – with no real medical necessity. It is thought that around 75 per of the US’s males are circumcised, regardless of religious or culture.

Alan told the Guardian that when he started to have sex with people in the US, he was made to feel “weird and freakish” because, like the majority of Brits, he is uncircumcised.

He revealed, “I never thought anything about my foreskin, and then I came to America and I was having sex and people would just be gasping because they’d never seen a foreskin before”

He brandished the procedure ‘mutilation” and said,  “It’s genital mutilation. And I think people say: ‘Oh, that’s hysterical.’ “But we do it to girls and it’s called genital mutilation.”

He also believes that circumcising for religious purposes is “ridiculous” saying, “We choose to keep doing some things and we just let the weirdest things go.”

    Circumcision in the UK

In 2018 a mother planned to sue a doctor who performed a circumcision on her son without her permission. Her son was allegedly taken by the son’s paternal grandmother for the procedure. The mother’s lawyer, Saimo Chahal QC said at the time, “While some people with religious beliefs see circumcision as normal, there are others who see it as an unnecessary assault which can be physically and psychologically harmful.”

The doctor and the child’s grandparents were all arrested in June 2017.

The Crown Prosecution Service decided it would not take any further action in October 2017.

The doctor, Dr Mehat, who performed the procedure was suspended for a month after a tribunal in 2019.
