Woman allegedly attacks two men in vicious homophobic attack

A women “threw cup of coffee” and “hits” gay couple on train, according to police reports

Officers would like to identify her after a homophobic incident on board a Hammersmith and City line tube train.

On 9 August at approximately 7.25am, two men boarded a train at Plaistow and asked a woman to move her bag from a seat so they could sit down.

British Transport Police reports that a verbal altercation ensued, during which the woman allegedly shouted homophobic abuse at the two men.

She, according to the BTP threw a cup of coffee at the victims and hit one of them in the face several times.

It is believed the woman left the train at Bromley by Bow station.

Officers believe the woman in the photo may have information which could help their investigation.

GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics Announces 10th DORIAN AWARDS for Film and TV

The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics has named its nominees for its milestone 10th Dorian Awards for the best in film and television of 2018.

Leading in the movie categories with eight nominations is The Favourite, followed by If Beale Street Could Talk, Can You Ever Forgive Me and Roma with six nods each, and A Star is Born with four. The stars of the latest “Born” remake—Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga—are both up for Film Performance honours as well as the group’s Wilde Artist of the Year award.

Many of the nominations add some excitement to this year’s film awards season. On GALECA’s short list for best actor: First Reformed star Ethan Hawke and BlacKkKlansman lead John David Washington. Hereditary’s Toni Collette and Yalitza Aparicio of Roma vie alongside Gaga for best actress. Widows upstart Elizabeth Debicki and Black Panther standout Michael B. Jordan up the ante in supporting performance races. And former YouTube star turned Eighth Grade writer-director Bo Burnham scored a nomination for Screenplay of the Year.

The spectacular, practically candy-coated Marvel adventure Panther is one of the titles up for Visually Striking Film of the Year, while the Diane Keaton comedy Book Club and Aquaman are in the running for (or from?) the Campy Flick honor.

In TV categories, FX’s transgender-empowering drama Pose and BBC America’s biting cat-and-mouse thriller Killing Eve lead among drama series. Killing Eve headliners Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer, true to their hit’s storyline, vie against each other for TV Performance—Actress, while Hugh Grant and his “A Very English Scandal” paramour Ben Whishaw face each other on the gentlemen’s side. Also making a fresh impression with GALECA, comprised of over 200 members in the U.S., Canada, Australia and the U.K.: HBO’s hitman comedy Barry, Pop network’s rich-family satire Schitt’s Creek, and Julia Roberts and her cryptic new Amazon conspiracy tale Homecoming.

“We’re thrilled by the strong variety of films and TV performances our diverse group of members has chosen to praise,” said GALECA President Diane Anderson-Minshall, Editorial Director of The Advocate. “In a lovely compliment to the Time’s Up movement, several categories, including Wilde Artist of the Year, Wilde Wit of the Year and Rising Star, are dominated by women this year. And it’s inspiring that the majority of our Director of the Year nominees are people of colour, including Spike Lee, Barry Jenkins, and Alfonso Cuarón.”

“It’s hard to believe this is our 10th go-around of giving out our Dorian Awards,” added GALECA’s Executive Director John Griffiths. “In such oddly combative times, that’s really something to covfefe.”

Speaking of cheeky, along with its latest nominations, GALECA has announced that comedian and radio personality Frank DeCaro (The Daily Show, Sirius XM’s The Frank DeCaro Show) will preside as Master of Ceremonies at its invitation-only 10th Dorian Awards Winners Toast. The event will be held Saturday, January 12, noon to 2:30 at Paley restaurant in Hollywood’s historic Columbia Square.

De Caro, fondly remembered for his turn as the campy movie critic on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, embodies “the perfect mix of wit and sincerity that suits our freewheeling Toast format,” said Griffiths. “He’s not only charming and funny, he has a deep respect for what it takes to make quality entertainment, remains sweetly starstruck even in these jaded times, and keeps his eye and heart on the big picture too.” DeCaro’s latest book, Drag: Combing Through the Big Wigs of Show Business, comes out from Rizzoli this spring.

Since GALECA’s first film and TV favourites were named in 2010, over 200 artists and productions have received a Dorian Award, while over 1000 have received nominations. Among its Film of the Year winners are “Argo” and “12 Years a Slave,” as well as two movies directed by Luca Guadagnino, I Am Love and Call Me By Your Name. With five Dorians each across various categories, Moonlight and Carol stand as the most awarded films in GALECA history, while Transparent, with six wins in best-series categories alone, reigns as the most honoured TV title.

Performers? Jessica Lange, Cate Blanchett and Jeffrey Tambor rank as GALECA’s most honoured so far, while MSNBC news personality Rachel Maddow and filmmaker Jordan Peele have each been recognised with three Dorian wins in non-performance categories.

Dear Dilemmas,

I got together with my boyfriend a few weeks before Christmas, so we haven’t been together long. However, he bought me a laptop as a present, because my old one died – and I really need one for uni. However, I didn’t really think we were doing gifts, so I only bought him a bottle of wine. I’m not sure if he can afford the computer, but I feel like it’s wrong to accept something so big of him.

It sounds like your boyfriend’s heart is in the right place, but buying you a laptop is probably way too much at this stage in your relationship and maybe this is a really grand gesture on his behalf to show how much he cares. But you say you have a feeling that it’s wrong. Ask yourself why does it feel wrong?

If he knew that you were both “not really doing gifts” and he still bought you an extravagant gift I would worry that this guy doesn’t know boundaries or is trying to buy your affection. It might make me question whether he’s trying to own you – knowing that you can’t afford this item, which is tied to your success at uni. It could put him in a position of power over you.

There’s a couple of options. Firstly, you need to communicate about how you feel – communication is key to any successful relationship and especially in a new one. You can politely refuse the gift and say it’s just too much at this stage in your relationship or you can make an arrangement to pay him a manageable monthly instalment for half of the computer – that way you get to keep it, but you’ll also half own it.

Is Adam Henson gay, straight, married?

You may know Adam Henson from BBC’s Countryfile, but in real life what is his relationship status and is he gay, bisexual or straight?

Adam Henson is the presenter of the BBC’s Countryfile, which started all the way back in 2001. He applied for the presenter job when the BBC were doing a star search for the newly created show. He won out against 3500 other applicants. He now presents for a number of shows including, Countryfile Summer Diaries, Inside Out, On Your Farm, and Farming Today.

He has published two books, Countryfile: Adam’s Farm: My life on the Land which was published in 2011 and the second book Like Farmer Like Son was released in 2016.

No,apparently the 50-something-presenter Adam Henson isn’t married, but he is partnered with a woman called Charlotte Henson and together the couple have two children, Ella and Alfie. Is James Jordan gay, bisexual or straight?

It’s a question that’s been doing the rounds, but James Jordan is married to Ola Grabowska so no, James isn’t gay, as he’s never spoken about being bisexual. The pair married in 2003 after meeting in 1999. They have yet to have any children from the marriage. They met during a dance competition in Blackpool. James apparently already had a girlfriend at the time. After a few years, James broke it off with his then girlfriend and Ola and he became an item. They lived in Hong Kong for a number of years teaching dance.

During his time in Celebrity Big Brother 2014, he wasn’t impressed when actor Gary Busey made remarks about being butt fked. Decide what you want to grow this year – learning from previous successes and mistakes – or if you’re totally new to the growing world then pick whatever you want, even if it just looks pretty! Order seeds and draw diagrams and I can guarantee it will set you up for a great year ahead.

Get a head start by sowing some seeds indoors. Try broad beans, salad leaves, spinach, leeks and onions for the healthy new you in 2014. Nothing tastes better than home-grown organic fruits and veg!

THEGAYUK Motoring Honours List for 2019

2019 Motoring New Years Honours List

2018 was quite a year for THEGAYUK motoring section. Two new contributors, Mark and Damien have joined and car choice from us, I hope, managed to whet your motoring appetites and curiosities. I think it is safe to say that 2019 will be an even bigger year so thanks for sticking with us.

And so to my top three with an extra and that extra is my “almost ran”. That accolade goes to the Volvo XC60 Momentum Pro. It really was a car that did everything and impressed, was a great place to navigate the world from and what’s more, it’s a Volvo. There are no pretensions to the brand. It is Volvo.

Now what I have noticed over the past years of doing my New Years Honours list is that this section seems to be the car that I would spend my own money on. So this is it, if it was my money, this is what I would buy. Well done Volvo.

And so to my top 3 for 2019

3) MG3.

This might come as a bit of a shock to you, considering I wasn’t overly kind and awarded the little hopeful only 2 stars.

I still stand by those two stars but only because of the engine. Take it outside of its comfort zone and it shows up as quite a rough unit with lacklustre performance. That said, use the MG3 with its 7-year warranty as a daily commute with a sporting look and in the stop-start traffic you’ll be stuck in, you’ll appreciate it as a device to keep you dry. And to be fair, it’s not an uncomfortable place to be in.

2) Range Rover Sport

This one shocked me. I wasn’t going to gush over the £75k Chelsea tractor but here it is, number two on my list. And why? Because it made you feel great. Land Rover has a following and despite the various quality issues they have from time to time, their followers are loyal to the core of the product. They feel good. A bit “not quite German” but with a passion built into the product.

And it’s that passion that comes across in the way they make you feel. Add to that the confidence it has to go anywhere in the world, with 4 of your best mates, in luxury and comfort and you can see why I fell for it, hook, line and sinker.

1) Honda Civic Type R

What can I say about Honda’s road rocket that hasn’t already been said in my review and all the others who have also given the Civic Type R their accolade of the best hot hatch, best fast car, best all-around fast family car, phenomenal shopping shuttle, Practical hatchback. You get the gist. It is a great all-rounder.

Speaking of rounder, you will eventually curb one of the black alloys that sit on band thin 20 walled tyres. And you will only want to put good tyres on it. That might detract from its running costs because chances are, if you are not respectful to its performance, you’ll go through those tyres pretty darn quick.

But what a car. It has the performance to match supercars and pop you to the local curry house for take away.

INTERVIEW | Matthew Morrison

Matthew is a Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated Broadway legend and star of TV hit Glee.

Could you take us through the format of how the show works?
Matthew Morrison: The Greatest Dancer is unlike any other show out there. The really cool thing about it that these dancers are going to go into an audition room, a dance studio with big mirrors, and basically they have to dance for their lives. They dance and if 75 percent of this huge audience that are on the other side of this mirror light up for them, then the mirror will open and they will be through to the next round.

And what happens if the mirror opens, who will they be faced with?
If the mirror opens they will be faced with the audience and three Dance Captains – myself, Cheryl and Oti. A lot of what we think of the dancers comes from seeing who continues their performance after the mirror opens, as there have been some people who stopped and started celebrating. I like to see the professionalism in the people who carry on.

Why did you want to do this show and what does dance mean to you?
I wanted to do The Greatest Dancer because I have always had such a passion for dance. Dance has been such a part of my life and has led me to the place that I am now in my career. It’s kind of the cornerstone of everything I’ve ever done, so for me dance fills in when words fail you. There’s always that expression you have through dance. I think it’s saved a lot of people’s lives and I hope as a captain I can inspire people and the next generation of people watching, through the power and vitality of dance.

Have you ever done anything like this before? Any talent show judging or anything like that?
This is my first time ever doing any type of talent show like this. With this show it’s great because the power is not in my hands, it’s up to the audience. So I will just give my feedback and my critiques to hopefully make them The Greatest Dancer.

Who inspired you to get into dance and was there any moment that you can identify back in the day when you thought I can do that, I want to do that, I want that to be my career?
I first started dancing when I watched a movie called Break In, and I was fascinated by this culture of break-dancing in Harlem. I got together with a couple of my friends and we just put cardboard boxes down on the ground and we just started teaching each other dance moves.

Later that progressed to my idol Gene Kelly, and watching his movies inspired me to dance and to dance like him. I want to carry on the legacy and the tradition of being a song and dance man, and that has been my goal ever since I was first introduced to Gene Kelly’s movies.

I never met Gene Kelly. I’ve met his wife though and I’ve been in talks with her about doing a Gene Kelly movie, but he said before he died, “I don’t want anyone to do me – I’m me”. And that’s it, I respect that. I won’t be doing a Gene Kelly movie.

Have there been any dance styles that have surprised you? Anything you didn’t think you would enjoy but have?
So obviously we’re doing a show called The Greatest Dancer, and we’re looking for the greatest dancer. But there were a couple of auditions that came through the door that really surprised me – in a good way! There was this group of dads they didn’t look like the typical dancer. That really made me check myself, because we really do have it in our heads of a stereotype of what a dancer should look like.

But these guys came on to the show and they came into the room and they were all wearing orange shirts, they looked like construction workers, and then they just danced their hearts out. It was so amazing, especially for me as a new father, watching these guys just basically doing this to impress their kids. They’re doing it out of the love they have for children and that’s led them into dance and to form this amazing dance troupe.

Were there moments when the mirror didn’t open and did you, the Dance Captains, get angry with the audience?
So as you know, the format of the show is that the mirror opens if 75 percent of the audience lights up for them. There were a few instances for sure that the mirror opened for awful acts. There was this one woman who wasn’t even dancing, she was just putting on a smile and doing her thing, and this one guy who had tape on his glasses, he had this ridiculous outfit on, he was trying to do the Cha-Cha or something I think. He had ribbons, I don’t know if he was dancing or auditioning for the rhythmic gymnastics Olympics team. It was just all over the place. But on the other side of that there were some amazing dancers that the mirror didn’t open up for.

Tell us something that we might not know about your fellow Dance Captains.
Meeting Oti in the process of The Greatest Dancer has been I think the greatest joy for me. She is the most incredibly… oh God, I can’t even think of the words for her! She’s just so genuine and so enthusiastic about everything and we were just like, somebody must have like just put a Duracell battery in her because she was just on all of the time and so fired up about all the dancers. That is such a great attribute to what she has and the energy she carries across. And I think she’s going to be a huge star. I think she’s on her way to real greatness.

What’s been the dance highlight of your career so far?
One of the highlights of my dance career was actually while we were doing Glee. It was in one weekend, we went to the White House to sing for the Obamas and then the next day we’re on a flight to Chicago to perform on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and it was like an hour-long show dedicated to Glee. And I got up there and I did this whole break dancing number. I wanted to highlight the young talent on the show, and I brought out this guy Harry Shum Jnr, and he was just amazing. So I kind of started it and I made it a dance battle and brought him on stage. And yeah, that was pretty much the highlight of my dance career, performing for the Obamas and Oprah on the same weekend.

Keiynan Lonsdale has a powerful message about your body and the sex you’re having

Keiynan Lonsdale has a message of empowerment for you and your body and the sex that you’re having. Taking to social media the Love, Simon actor reminded his 180,000 fans on Twitter that if what’s happening in your bed doesn’t do it for you then it’s time to move on, he even used lyrics from Ariana Grande’s latest song to hit home the message.

He also said the key was honesty and speaking up when things weren’t going right. He wrote that if honesty was a problem that it might be time to move on from that relationship.

He wrote, Your body is YOURS ONLY. It doesn’t belong to anyone else. The pleasure you feel is yours, the pain you feel is yours. If you are ever uncomfortable with what’s going on in bed, you let the other player know straight up. If honesty is a problem for them, it’s “thank you, next.” x

Previously Keiynan also asked why society treats nakedness as wrong. Despite saying that he wasn’t confident being naked, he stated, “each of us is made to feel incorrect inside our own physical form,

“No matter what we look like, each of us is made to feel incorrect inside our own physical form, told that in order to survive & be a functioning, liked, & well respected person in society, we should hide this form from the world.

“That shit sounds whack to me. Now, I’m not at all at the confidence level to be neked in public lol, maybe one day i hope, but I’m sure as hell working on sharing & showing off my body to myself.. and it feels good.”

Is Matthew Morrison gay?

The Glee actor is now judging in the brand new BBC talent show, The Greatest Dancer, but what else do we know about the award-winning TV star

Although Matthew Morrison is probably best known for his stint as Mr Schuester from the hit TV show, Glee, he is also a Broadway star and film star. He’s appeared in films such as Music and Lyrics, The Muppets and Underdogs.

Is Matthew Morrison gay, bisexual or straight

Of course, in 2019 these things really don’t or shouldn’t matter, but Matthew Morrison straight as far as we can tell. He’s married to a woman called Renee Puente. They were married in October 2014 on the island of Maui. They had their first child together in 2017. In October Renee had a baby boy who they named Revel James Makai.

Matthew has had his sexuality rumoured and speculated about many times. Being in the “gayest show on TV” Glee, didn’t squash any of those rumours, despite him playing a heterosexual character.

In 2013 he put the record straight in an interview with the Huffington Post. When he was asked whether the public misconception about him being gay “bothered him” he replied, “I know my own truth. I’m in a great relationship with a woman. Maybe before it used to bother me. Then I was like, “This is so stupid that this bothers me. Some of my best friends in the world are gay, and if this is bothering me, then that means I have an issue with that.” Once I figured that out for myself, I thought, “I don’t care what anyone thinks about me.”

He then made it clear that he was an ally for the gay community and was “very proud” of his role in the community.

Is Matthew Morrison married?

Yes, Matthew Morris is married to a woman called Renee Puente. Matthew and Renee got married in October 2014. The pair met at a celebrity party. Renee is a singer and model and comes from Hawaii. Before meeting Renee it is reported that he dated singer and actor Lea Michelle, who would go on to co-star with Matthew in the hit Fox show, Glee.
