  • Gary Goddard “unequivocally” denies molestation allegation

Gary Goddard’s spokesperson has said that allegations made by actor Anthony Edwards are “false”.

Former director and Broadway producer Gary Goddard’s spokesperson, Sam Singer, has denied that the Hollywood exec molested actor Anthony Edwards when the ER actor was just 12 years old.

Writing for Medium, Edwards claimed that Goddard had molested him when he was a pre-teen. In his essay he said,

“I was molested by Goddard, my best friend was raped by him — and this went on for years. The group of us, the gang, stayed quiet.”

    Goddard’s spokesman, Sam Singer said,

“As to the allegations that Mr. Edwards made in his post today, I can unequivocally deny them on Gary’s behalf.

“Gary first met Anthony more than 40 years ago. Gary was a mentor, teacher and a friend to Anthony, which makes this story all the more disturbing to him.”

He continued: “Gary played an important role in helping start Anthony’s acting career and acted as his personal manager. He has nothing but the greatest respect for Anthony as a person. Gary is saddened by the false allegations.”

Goddard himself has not issued a statement on social media.

In 2013 he appeared as Hank Galliston in 10 episodes of the TV series Zero Hour. His biggest film role to date would most likely be Ray “Brains” Hackenbacker in the 2004 Thunderbirds and as Lt Nick “Goose” Bradshaw in the 1986 mega film, Top Gun with Tom Cruise.

    Personal life

In 1994 he married his wife Jeanine Lobell and together they have four children, one son and three daughters. They live in New York City. Anthony was born in July 1962 which makes him 54/5 in 2017.

He’s an award-winning actor, who has received a Golden Globe and six  Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Sexual harassment allegations against Gary Goddard

In November 2017, Anthony Edwards wrote an essay on the website Medium, alleging that Hollywood director, Broadway producer and theme park designer Gary Goddard sexually assaulted him when he was 12 years old. He claimed that Goddard was a “mentor, teacher and friend” but alleges that he “molested by Goddard”.

These allegations have been strongly denied by Gary Goddard’s spokesperson who said,

“Gary first met Anthony more than 40 years ago. Gary was a mentor, teacher and a friend to Anthony, which makes this story all the more disturbing to him. As to the allegations that Mr Edwards made in his post today, I can unequivocally deny them on Gary’s behalf.

“Gary played an important role in helping start Anthony’s acting career and acted as his personal manager. He has nothing but the greatest respect for Anthony as a person. Gary is saddened by the false allegations.

“The post by Anthony, as well as many of the news stories today reference a legal claim made against Gary approximately four years ago regarding sexual harassment. The complaint was demonstrated to be fraudulent as it was completely fabricated, and ultimately withdrawn by the complainant and his attorneys”.

  • Fans are demanding that George Takei answer to groping allegations

George Takei’s own community of fans are demanding that the actor answer to the allegations of groping.

George Takei’s silence on an alleged sexual harassment claim brought by former model and actor Scott R Brunton has got his Facebook community vexed.

The community, which has around 10 million users on Facebook have been asking George to make a statement on the claim, in which Brunton says he found himself being groped by the Star Trek legend in 1981 when he was 23 and Takei was in his early 40s, after passing out in the actor’s home.

Since the allegations dropped in The Hollywood Reporter, Takei has seemingly remained offline and his rep said that she was unable to contact him.

Fans on the platform have been discussing the claims for hours since the allegations came to light. Many are asking Takei to make a statement.

Whilst others warned that a “Witch hunt” would begin.

Others questioned silence coming from the Takei camp

Others wanted the actor to know that they still loved him.

  • Star Trek actor accused of groping actor in 1981

Star Trek star, George Takei has been accused of groping an actor in 1981.

Outspoken LGBT+ advocate and Star Trek icon George Takei has been accused of groping a 23-year-old model and actor, Scott R. Brunton in 1981.

Brunton spoke out against Takei to The Hollywood Reporter.

Brunton alleges that after a few drinks at Takei’s home in California, in the early 80s, he fell asleep on a bean bag chair and when he awoke he found his trousers were around his ankles and claims Takei, who was 43 or 44 at the time, was groping him.

Speaking of the incident he told THR, “‘No. I don’t want to do this.” and I pushed him off and he said, ‘OK, fine.’ And I said I am going to go and he said, ‘If you feel you must. You’re in no condition to drive.’ I said, ‘I don’t care I want to go.’ So I managed to get my pants up and compose myself and I was just shocked. I walked out and went to my car until I felt well enough to drive home, and that was that.”

THR reached out to Takei’s rep, Julia Buchwald, who was unable to reach her client for comment when the story broke and said that Takei was travelling to Japan and Austraila and was not available for comment.

When asked why Brunton was able to allege these activities now, he revealed that he felt that following the Harvey Weinstein allegations his voice would be heard. He said in the past that he felt no one would believe him and that it was “my word against his”.

However, when Takei spoke out against Spacey during the Rapp allegations, when actor Anthony Rapp claimed that Kevin Space made “sexual advances” to him when he was just 14, Brunton felt it was time to come forward.

Out of all of this Brunton says he is only looking for an apology saying, “I don’t want anything from him but an apology,

“I am sure he’ll disown all this, I don’t know, maybe not.”

We’ll update when and if George Takei makes a statement about these allegations.

  • Who is Richard Osman and what time is Pointless on today?

He’s on our screens a lot, but how much do we really know about the Pointless co-host Richard Osman.

    Is Richard Osman gay?

Richard Osman is the clever co-host of the BBC’s daytime programme, Pointless. So what do we know about him?

    Is Richard Osman gay?

Well, rather interestingly in a blog posted in 2011, Richard wrote that his job was to be the host, Alexander Armstrong’s “‘pointless friend’, providing extra facts, trying to tell jokes, and adding to the Brokeback Mountain-style sexual frisson of the show”. Now make of that what you will. However, Richard, who was once voted “weirdest crush” is actually heterosexual and on the dating scene. Recently, he was said to be dating radio DJ and deputy editor of InStyle magazine, Emily Dean. He split with the mother of his two children a number of years ago.

    How tall is Richard?

Richard is a very tall guy. He stands 6 foot 7 inches, which makes him taller than Basket Ball legend Michael Jordan. Being that tall you would think might have its advantages but Richard told the Express that “I’m so tall and my eyesight is so bad, I think if I ever tried to do anything brave it would end so badly. My grandad, who was a police officer, always said to me, ‘If you’re called to a fight in a pub, make sure you’re second through the door.’  The one thing, he said that he would change about himself is, in fact, his height, he’d like to shave a few inches off and be 6 foot 4.

What was Richard Osmon doing before he starred in Pointless?

Richard was working in television long before he landed the Pointless co-host job, but he was strictly behind the scenes. He got the co-host job when he pitched the idea to BBC execs. During the pitch, legend has it that he took the role of the assistant during the pitch. Producers were so impressed they suggested that he fill the role permanently. Before Pointless Richard was a script editor for the BBC’s Total Wipeout and wrote the Channel 4 sitcom, Boyz Unlimited with David Walliams and Matt Lucas.

What are Richard Osman’s kids called?

So Richard has two children, one daughter named Ruby, who was born in 1998 and a son who was born in 2000. In an interview, he said that his two best friends were, in fact, his kids. Ahh!

Has Richard Osman ever done naked things?

Richard has suggested that he’d like to do a nude calendar of geeks. In 2013, he told The Telegraph that he’d be up for stripping off and taking part in a naked shoot for a calendar, the theme – nude geeks. We’ve got 5 gorgeous gay geeks here we reckon should join Richard… We’d buy that calendar.

Are Richard and Alexander Armstrong friends in real life?

Yes, the chemistry between Richard and Alexander is real as in life they are actually very good friends. They met, studying at Trinty College, Cambridge in the late 80s and early 90s. Richard read Politics and Sociology while Alexander read English Literature.

Does Richard have a large fanbase?

Indeed, Richard has many admirers. His TV career has helped him amass nearly 493,000 followers on Twitter and on Facebook he has nearly 4000 people liking him. In 2011 he won the dubious pleasure of becoming Heat magazine’s Weirdest Crush Award, becoming the popular weekly’s “unlikely heartthrob”.

  • Guys: Five health signs that something might be wrong

We spoke to doctors from The Online Clinic to seek advice on the most important symptoms for men to be on the lookout for.

    Men's Health, prostate worries,
If you’re suffering any of these pains, you might want to get yourself to the GP

It can be hard to know what health issues are really important to look out for with men’s health. The internet throws all kinds of signs and symptoms at us, and googling only results in permanent paranoia. To try and understand what we really should be keeping an eye out for, I’ve been speaking to doctors from The Online Clinic to highlight the most important health signs. They gave me information on the following top five health signs which should be a warning signal to men to go and get a check-up.

    Urination

Be sure to keep an eye on your urine – as this is often the first sign that something is wrong with your prostate. If you have a poor stream or find there is hesitation when going to pee, this can be a strong indication of prostatic issues. Get checked by a doctor as soon as possible and put your mind at ease.

    Unexplained weight loss

Another sign is weight loss – if you are losing weight without intention, it’s a good idea to get this investigated. The doctors at The Online Clinic have said that it could mean you have a symptom of a metallic disorder such as thyroid disease, diabetes, or even cancer in the extreme cases.

Statistically, middle-aged men are twice as likely to suffer from diabetes than women, so it is important to rule this out. If you notice that you are beginning to lose weight, make sure you see a doctor ASAP.

    Coughing

Coughing can be another sign of a more serious health problem – if you’re a smoker, don’t dismiss a cough that lingers for more than three weeks as just being a nasty cigarette side effect. It could be a sign of something much more serious, like a lung disorder – or even cancer. If you find that a cough does last longer than three weeks, be sure to get this checked as soon as possible. And, if you don’t smoke, a cough longer than 6 weeks could indicate the same thing.

    Painful ejaculation

Pain when you ejaculate is unpleasant and can be distressing. If this happens make sure you take note and go to the doctors, however embarrassing it may be.

Regularly check for blood in your sperm or discharge from your penis. If you do find anything unusual it’s a good idea to go and get an STI test. These are all symptoms of a sexually transmitted disease.

    Pain

Lastly, it’s important to remember that pain, in general, is usually a sign that something’s wrong: listen to your body when it tells you that something is amiss and seek advice from a doctor.

Advice given by Dr Elizabeth Kershaw-Yates, GP and one of the medical team at TheOnlineClinic

  • CAR REVIEW | Dacia Duster Lauréate

    ★★★★ | Dacia Duster Lauréate

Sometimes the annoying happens. For some time now I’d wanted to try a Duster and when l managed to get hold of one I was told that it was due for replacement in 2018 but would l still like one anyway?

This got me thinking and with the Duster already being good value for money if you just take its list price as a guide only, I wondered if it would make even better sense to buy one as a run out model or just buy one now?

If you are looking for an SUV type vehicle but feel you need to steer clear of Dacia’s offerings because it seems ridiculously cheap and looks a bit gawky then more fool you. In the days where cheap cars from the Eastern Bloc really were dreadful except for the price and a warranty, then I’d understand your viewpoint. What you need to do is not only take my word for it but also judge for yourself by the number of awards, praise and accolades the Duster has achieved since its UK launch in 2012.

The advertising campaign used for the Duster is a good one too. All multitude of people from all walks of life singing “another one buys a Duster” ending with “hay, why don’t we get one too” and you should.

What you can disregard from the previous models are the engines. The £14,990 Duster Lauréate sitting on my drive came with the 1.2 TCe 125hp engine and not once did l complain. The 205Nm of torque available from 2000rpm was enough if you didn’t mind the occasional cog swap when you wanted to overtake. The little engine was incredibly sweet. Smooth and quiet. It wasn’t what l was expecting if l am honest.

The range starts from £9500 for the basic 2wd Access model that comes with no radio, through a 5 model range topping at a heady £18,400. We were given the midrange Lauréate model in 2wd. You can’t help but notice where the savings have come from and why these are such good value.

It’s pretty much a 2010 Renault Clio inside. No such bad thing to be honest. It’s tried and tested and works. You also notice a massive dial to the right on the dashboard for altering the headlight angles. Something very French and I’ve not seen in a car since the 1980s. Crude, sort of, but immensely effective. And that is the key to the Duster’s success. It’s an immensely effective vehicle.

Renault switchgear aside, the ergonomics are not. The inbuilt satnav and infotainment screen was awkwardly placed and visual information from the screen during a navigated journey would have resulted in eyes coming off the road, adjusting and then back to the road again. The talking part of the satnav works far better in practice and the commands were clear and concise. The 6-speed gearbox was a welcome standard feature if only because in 5th gear, the stick fouled against my lanky resting leg.

That is annoying for one reason, the Duster gets into its stride quite easily and on the fast roads, it is easy to relax and let the satisfactory engine performance do the rest. Fifth is a gear that isn’t needed often except for the most arduous inclines. This then makes the cruise control easier to use.

Load space is plentiful. In a car this cheap you wouldn’t be too picky about throwing everything at it. And good job too. I like to see the odd token of body colour here and there except in the boot where the load edge is uncovered and the inner of the tailgate painted. It wouldn’t take long for this to get scratched. It would infuriate me because l like the car and I’d want to look after it. Speaking of looking after it, it is ok in the put together department too. At this price, it isn’t outstanding but there was nothing I’d be too miffed about. It’s another thing the Duster does to you, you start to appreciate its no-nonsense approach to human transport.

Ride and handling are an odd balance. It’s quite French in its ways. In actuality, it’s quite old-school French. It rides with such a lovely subtle ride that pretty much caresses the irregularities of the road. This also endows it with is a lot of bump steer and corner lurching when you get busy in the S bends. Being slightly jacked up in its SUV format, this exaggerates the motion. For this alone, I would remove the ‘sports’ tag from the SUV. It will carry you great distances in comfort. Used as a load lugger or commuter car is where it is best. A sports car it is not.

It is a pretty sizeable car inside. I put it to good use in collecting some bits for a project. The rear section swallowed a whole camper van door and there was still space for other items. Folding the rear seat was simple and there are some neat locators in the trim to get the seat belts out of the way. With the seats folded they do not give a flat floor area.

Look through the options for the Duster and you’ll be surprised at how well you can spec it up. As it is, the model tested would have done me proud. For little over £2000, you can have all the individual extras available. Some of them are available in packages too. Probably the best package is the extended warranty. For £850 you get 7 years or 100,000 miles of peace of mind motoring as long as you adhere to the terms.

I’d take the Duster as it is, right now, even before the new model arrives. I don’t know about ‘another one buys a Duster’ but I’ve got brass in my pocket and I’m going to use it.
