  • Is being shaved “down there” the new look?

Is being shaved “down there” the new look?

Manscaping is a necessary chore that all us men have to go through to keep our junk in an aesthetically pleasing state.

We can no longer be all 70’s about our down below areas… getting to grips with your man bush is a must!

How ever necessary this process is it does not make it any less tiresome. Here are my top 5 tips to achieve the perfect haircut for your downstairs.

    STUBBLE

    1. Nobody wants to feel like they’re going down on a 9 year old so when your hacking around your tool with the trimmers make sure you leave yourself some stubble. The only people to get away with the bald look are porn stars and even then I prefer to see something down there.

    NO SPOTS

    2. One place baldness is generally preferred is around the ass so if you’re using hair removal cream to achieve a silky smooth tushi make sure you go with a sensitive cream. Don’t and you’ll regret it when your ass is red raw and itching like a b*tch.

    MOISTURISE

    3. After care is a must. When your hair starts to re-grow it is going to itch and without the aid of a moisturiser you’ll probably end up with a rash. I recommend the same thing that was recommended to me be a stripper friend of mine and that’s Sudecrem. Sudecrem is officially your best friend.

    TECHNIQUE

    4. Pull it tight. Remember that feeling when you accidentally cut your face with the razor when you shave? Imagine that on your crown jewels, OMG cringe! Remember the skin on your boys is thinner and looser than the skin on your face so avoid any unfortunate slip ups by pulling the skin taut.

THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE RIGHT JOB

    5. Last but not least, use a fresh razor to avoid bacteria infections and keep your electric trimmers clean and free from old hair.

  • Your Bucket List could set you back nearly £20000

Brits are willing to spend up to £10,000 on their bucket list on average, new research has revealed.

A survey exploring bucket list budgets revealed Brits would be willing to part with between £5,000 and £10,000 on completing their travel goals.

But with the cost of completing the UK’s ‘top 10 bucket list activities’ coming in at a whopping £18,519 (at an average cost per activity of £1851.90), that would only be enough to complete five bucket list items.

Going on safari (£5,600) and walking the Great Wall of China (£1,139) both appeared in the top five bucket list activities.

And visiting the Grant Canyon (£1,181), going whale watching (£2,000) and taking an American road trip (£3,365) also made the top ten wish-list.

Joe Gardiner, Head of Brand and Communications for TotallyMoney.com, said,

“We all have a bucket list, but many of us probably don’t take the time to work out how much it would cost to complete.

“If you’re serious about getting everything done before you kick the bucket, then that’s where you have to start.”

The thrifty and frugal, however, can start working towards completing their bucket list right now by choosing one of the three free activities on the list.

Starring as an extra in a movie, writing a novel and running a marathon can all be completed without costing a penny.

In the meantime, big dreamers can try a new bucket list calculator to find out how much you need to set aside.

Using the definitive top 50 bucket list, TotallyMoney.com compiled a smart bucket list calculator which gives users the ability to pick their own ultimate activities from amongst the UK’s favourites.

The tool then calculates the total cost of users’ individual bucket lists, before presenting them with the percentage of their salary they will need to save in order to achieve their dreams, based on whether they have two, five or ten years to stockpile funds.

Joe added: “Planning ahead and staying on top of your finances is essential if you’re going to get the most bang for your buck, especially when it comes to travelling and life experiences.”

  • 9 Of The Best LGBT Characters On TV

Just how well are us LGBTs portrayed on television & film? Here are 9 of our favourite TV characters.

So I’m going to list my 9 best examples of LGBT characters based on their iconic status or accurate portrayal. For this list I’m using the characters sexuality and identity only, not the actors who portray them.

    1. Maura Pfefferman (Jeffrey Tambor)

Transparent. A sensitive and moving portrait of a trans-woman struggling to come to terms with her gender identity and having to come out to her family as transgender. Transparent depicts the struggles that families go through when a loved one comes out with a secret like this. Luckily the series doesn’t sensationalise the issue, nor does it become offensive of the portrayal of Maura, who says the most wonderful line “All my life, my whole life I’ve been dressing up like a man, this is me” Definitely worth a watch.

    2. Ellen Morgan (Ellen DeGeneres)

Ellen. In 1997 The Puppy Episode the character of Ellen loudly announced to a whole airport terminal she was gay and made television history in the process. DeGeneres herself came out on the same day to Oprah (who had guest starred in the episode) and the show took a light-hearted comedic approach to the character who’s sexuality had always been a source of speculation. However, after the episode aired ratings started to decline and criticisms were aimed at the writers for concentrating too much on the gay aspect of a character and the show was cancelled a year later.

  • If you’re straight and sleeping with gay men, here’s five things you need to know

A self identified straight man goes to Reddit, after hooking up with a gay guy, looking for advice fearing that the relationship might go to the next level.

As someone who has written about the perils and pitfalls of sleeping with straight men, I sympathise with both the bloke who posted and the bloke he shagged. Most of these men mean no harm, and sexual experimentation is not only natural but healthy. However, I’ve also had my heart broken when the love of my life came out as straight and left me for a woman.

So what can bicurious men do to mitigate the potential for emotionally hurting their sexual partners? I’ve got five pointers below:

    1. Be up front and honest.

I don’t know if the guy in question planned on going home with another man or not. Sometimes spontaneous shit happens. But there’s always that awkward cab ride, or the anticipatory walk, or some moment between “we’re just flirtatiously dancing” and “I’m gonna suck a d**” where you can explain your situation. I suggest you do. There was one night a few years back I met a guy at a bar. We hit it off and he invited me back to his place, but before we left, he made it clear that he was 1) straight and 2) only into getting his di** sucked. I was down to go down, so I followed him home. By clearly communicating limits and truths, we were able to have a mutual and consensual good time with no expectations attached.

    2. Realise that we’re not an “experimental game.”

I don’t care what Katy Perry says. We’re not your sex toys. We are living, breathing people with real lives, real emotions, and real desires. And in the context of no-strings-attached sex, me getting off is just as important (if not more important) to me than you getting off. You don’t get to call all the shots, especially if I’m bottoming. I’m not here to satisfy your every whim or every desire. Remember that bit about communicating limits? Gay and bi men have them, too. Some of us don’t do anal. Some of us only top. Some of us are okay with rough sex (*raises hand*) and some of us are blander than a Starbuck’s Vanilla Bean Frappucino. Bottom line: we don’t exist for your pleasure, we exist for ours. And since you’ve been honest that this probably isn’t going any further, don’t expect us to submit to your every whim. But don’t expect us to do all the work, either; most gay men expect a bit of egalitarianism in the bedroom. We call it versatility.

    3. Understand the rules of the game.

This is unfashionable to say these days, but the truth is gay world is very different than straight world. Most of us don’t need the song-and-dance that straight people engage in. (And I’ve seen plenty of straight men playing the “I’m-coy-court-me” game, so hush with your misogyny.) If you want to f*** us, tell us. Be tactful, gauge body language and social cues, but tell us. There’s no need to be shy. But also, don’t be offended if we get up after we get off; we’re the people who invented Grindr, which was always meant to be a hookup app. You’re the people who corrupted it into Tindr by trying to give it an air of respectability. We’ve got lives. We’re busy. And we’ve got better things to do bask in afterglow or engage in some painfully awkward conversation before.

    4. Trust us.

I can’t tell you the number of hetero guys I’ve slept with who have lied to me. From giving me false names to denying they’d slept with other men (like I’d care?) to lying about having girlfriends and even, once, a wife, they may have been straight, but their stories sure as hell weren’t. If you’re going to sleep with me, which is frankly the most intimate and potentially dangerous act you can do with another person, you should at least trust me enough to tell me the truth. I don’t need your mother’s maiden name and your social security (or national insurance) number, but a first name and relationship status—you know, the sh** you advertise on your office desk—would be nice. It lets us know not only a little about you, which I like in a sexual partner, but also prepares us for the rare unforeseen circumstance where we run into you outside the bar or bedroom. This happened to me five years ago this week, when on Spring Break, I met and slept with a man (several times) who failed to mention he had a girlfriend who, as chance may have it, was also staying at our resort. Word got back to her and when I finally ran into them together, it wasn’t pretty.

    5. Don’t make it awkward.

When I did run into the aforementioned Spring Break paramour and his girlfriend, he proceeded to apologise to me, to her, to me. This made it very clear to her who I was (I guess his fraternity brothers told her), because the next thing you know my girlfriends are preparing to have to jump in front of me. Don’t be that guy. If you see us in public, say hi. You don’t have to engage in a prolonged conversation, but a simple “oh hey” will suffice. If for some reason you’re not comfortable saying hi (maybe you’re with your homophobic parents, or your significant other), let us know in advance that if we see you in public, you’d rather act like strangers. It might be annoying, but at least we’ll be prepared.

    6. Bonus: If you want to do it again, just ask.
 We may be game.

    Gay Couple

We might not be. We’re people, not fleshlights.

Bottom line: treat us like people worthy of dignity and respect. It’s completely okay to fool around with a guy, even if you’re not sure it’s your thing. But remember, that guy is a real person with real feelings. Follow the rules above and your much more likely to ensure a mutually enjoyable experience.

Best of luck, bicurious lads. It’s a tough, heternormative world out there.

Play fair. Play safe. But please, don’t play us.

    12 questions gay men love

We thought we’d turn this around – and talk about the questions gay men actually love.

Yes we’ve all heard the questions that drive many gay and bisexual men crazy, “who’s the woman”, “how do you really know…”

Of course there are the totally dumb questions straight people still ask LGBT+ people – but we asked our readers what questions they loved hearing…

    More Wine?

I mean who doesn’t love to be asked if they want another glass of Pinot!

Why can’t straight men be more like gay men?

Well dear – live changes when you’ve been on the receiving end of a dick. We kid we kid. Our personalities are the result of our experiences. Not all straight men are arseholes and not all gay men are angels…

    Doesn’t that hurt?

We love a bit of sex chat – and after a glass of Pinot we might be willing to talk about the finer details of our sex lives.

Polari was a form of slang in Britain used by actors, showmen, merchant navy sailors, sex workers was adopted by gay subculture.

It’s been around since at least the 19th century – some have found its origins as far back as the 16th century.

It’s had its ups and down, but it’s a rather Fantabulosa way of expressing yourself.

  • Six 80’s cartoons that made us slightly gay

Six 80’s cartoons that made us slightly gay

Ah the 80s. The decade where pastel coloured ponies, high heeled clad super heroes atop of unicorns and pink haired wannabe filled our screens and therefore made, nay, forced us to be a little bit gay…

    Let’s look at the evidence…

    CareBears

Firstly there were the CareBears, animals with hearts on their chests and a pink one flying a rainbow flag. It’s like they knew. I think this is the carton that made me gay.

    My Little Pony

Then a little while later these tricksy little pastel coloured Equus caballus came along and turned my world upside down. Yes I may even have purchased a My Little Pony pony… Jealous. I know you are… My father was a proud man that evening after discovering his son mucking out his My Little Pony pony

    SuperTed

SuperTed and Spotty. Remember these little critters? Magical “powder’ and “medicine” made Teddy SuperTed, some kind of crazy roid-raging do-gooder. All the while having some dude dressed as a spotty banana, with a terrible haircut living on a space station feeding you more “powder” and “medicine”, bit like me and friends at Popstarz circa 2004

    She Ra

Now She-Ra was a personal favourite, not only was she a complete superhero, but also she wore heels whilst saving the world. Did Superman do that? Nope. What a vamp. Her friends included a pixie, a guy who looked like he was a 70’s porn star and a broomstick. Obvs!  I mean she saved the world on a freakin’ flying unicorn.

    Bananaman

There’s no one who can deep throat a banana like Eric. This guy single handedly taught me everything I needed to know. However, I never turned into Banana Man, so perhaps we’re not what we eat after all

    Thundercats

Thundercats Ho…. Apparently. Massive swords, a lady cheetah, who runs in wedges espadrilles and a rippled muscle man panther. I just don’t know where to go with this. Even the f**king animal people have better bodies than me. Boundless energy and a stupid pissy cat called Snarf. Good times. All a little bit camp – and Mumra looks like several drag queens I’ve known and loved.

  • 10 ways to banish pre-wedding stress

10 ways to banish pre-wedding stress

Getting married should be the happiest, most wonderful time of your life. Sadly, it’s often the most stressful time of one’s life. It doesn’t need to be that way, though. If you’re due to get married, I’m here to help with my top 10 tips for banishing pre-wedding stress.

    Indulge in a technology detox.

If you’ve been busy with planning your wedding, take some time out for yourself and your fiancé. Put your phones out of sight, turn off the television and all other technology distractions. Put on some music, pour yourself a large glass of wine and enjoy some quiet time with your partner. Allowing yourself that time to switch off and relax will bring huge benefits to your life.

    Take up breathing exercises.

This isn’t as boring as it may sound. Try this… Sit quietly and take a deep breath in for a count of four. Then exhale for a count of four. Repeat this exercise for two minutes and take notice of how it begins to make you feel. I recommend making breathing exercises a part of your daily routine to keep stress at bay.

     Have sex.

It’s something enjoyable and the release of endorphins when in the throes of passion will put a huge smile on your face. If you’re not really up for sex, try my first tip and see if that to set the scene for an explosive, stress busting bonk.

    Exercise.

The previous tip may have covered that slightly, but sexercise isn’t the only stress busting activity you can indulge in. Getting regular exercise is key in reducing stress levels. Even just a twenty-minute walk each day can help, but if you’re feeling more energetic, get out there and pound the streets or join a gym class. You could even put on some music and dance like nobody is watching, which is surely one of the most fun things to do. If you’re not up for much exercise, make it a social occasion and exercise while catching up with friends. Which leads me to my next tip…

Make sure you keep in touch with family and friends.

When planning a wedding, it can be too easy to fall out of the loop with those closest to you. So set aside some time and make an effort to catch up with family and friends. You could involve them in your wedding planning, but I suggest putting the planning to one side and having a proper catch up with people. It’s sure to be a boost to your mood and a massive stress reducer.

It’s all well and good to embrace the warmer months and regurgitate last summer’s clobber, hit Selfridges for new Havies and stock-up on string vests – but not if you’re recoiling alfresco diners, beer garden drinkers and the pond life of Old Compton St as you misconstrued bumsters were ever in.

If you insist on donning a vest, a neat amount of chest fuzz is acceptable. Unkept armpits, Chewbacca shoulders and if it looks like a squashed chinchilla is creeping up to mate with the back of your neck – manscape – or pop on a cotton roll-neck.

    Popeye will pop eyes

It’s all very well staying cool this season but exposing your arms if they resemble a nine year-old-girl’s will deter hot predators, attract finger lickin’ and enthuse passers by to take interest in your ring “my precious”.

    Declawing

Reptile nails, ciabatta crust heels and toe jam might have been appealing to inmates at The Clink, but nowadays will repulse most gifted with vision. It’s defo good to give ya hooves fresh oxygen but not if they look like they’ve just stepped off Middle-Earth.

And just because Dolce & Gabbana’s S/S collection was laden with tight T’s it doesn’t mean you should offend your compadres, colleagues and the rest of us with your protruding crap-ladder sporting muffin-top.

    1) White Pants are a wardrobe must.

Don’t ask us why. It’s the go go law.

    2) You must be tanned – from top to toe.

Your tan will be beautifully set off by those tiny white trunkies.

    3) You can be a fronty or a backy…

Those are the rules – you’re either a bubble, bootilcious beauty or a elephant’s trunk. Them the rules. Not many people can be both.

    4) Everybody spends the whole evening looking at your package

Which is fine. Actually it’s kinda hot.

    5) Men are gropers

Which is not that fine… actually – and the Hen nights can be even worse.

Go for it. We really found out that people are calling them “sex socks“.

    13) We’re dying for a freakin chocolate bar/burger/pint of Stella.

You have to gym it, eat clean and be bloat free. All those boring things in order to be picture perfect.

    14) Why can’t there be a plus size or even an average body go go boy.

I mean come on bar owners – we’re not in the 90s anymore.
