  • Gay Dating | What does BDSM stand for?

Simply put, BDSM is an acronym for Bondage, Discipline, Sadism and Masochism.

There are many forms of BDSM and they run a spectrum from light power play, like blindfolds and furry handcuffs to rough abuse – including genital abuse like CBT (cock and ball torture).

Usually, a person takes up a preferred role, dominant or subservient, masochist or sadist, although of course, you’ll get people who like to switch, between the many roles.

The dom is usually the person doling out the punishment or pain, while the sub is the receiver.

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the first known use of BDSM was in 1991.

So what is Bondage, Discipline, Sadism and Masochism?

    What does BDSM mean?

Bondage is where the tying up of your partner with roles, cables, cable ties, scarves or actual chains. The idea is to restrict your partner’s movement. Again this could be on the lighter side, with just bounding someone’s hands to a full-body restriction suit, made from rubber.

Discipline could be corporal punishment like hits and spanks, but it could be verbal discipline as well.

Sadism is where someone is turned on by cruelty or humiliation inflicted upon another.

Masochism is the opposite of sadism. It’s where you are turned on by subjected to physical pain or humiliation.

BDSM in the gay community is not uncommon, with many guys trying out one form or another within relationships or other hookups. Many enjoy power play and enjoy the taking of dom or sub-roles, just as their heterosexual counterparts do.

Many people associate leather wear like harnesses and hogtie with the likes of homoerotic imagery like Tom of Finland or the activities of the annual Folsom street fair in San Francisco.

It is important to distinguish between consensual BDSM activities between consenting adults and those who are being abused or coerced against their wills.

Although BDSM does involve abuse, it is welcomed by the recipient, whereas sexual abuse isn’t.

A woman in the US is suing gay people for being gay

Time.com is reporting that Sylvia Driskell, 66, who describes herself as an ambassador of “God, And His, Son Jesus Christ [sic]” is embarking on a legal challenge called “Driskell v. Homosexuals“, oh and she’s using just the bible and the Webster’s Dictionary as her only information source.

In her seven page petition to the court she writes,

“I never thought that I would see a day in which our great nation or our own great state of Nebraska would become so compliant to the complicity of some people[’s] lewd behavior,”

She also states, “that homosexuality is a sin and that they the homosexuals know it is a sin to live a life of homosexuality. Why else would they have been hiding in the closet.”

According to the report Driskell will be serving as her own legal counsel.

  • Gay Dating | What does “cut/uncut” mean?

Gay Dating | What does “cut/uncut” mean?

One of the options you’ll find on many dating / hook up apps to help describe yourself to would-be partners is a question about whether you’re cut or uncut.

Sometimes, “cut” can mean how well defined your muscles are, but in this case, they are talking about your cock.

Simply put, Cut is for those guys who don’t have a foreskin, whilst Uncut is for guys who still have their foreskins or “intact”.

    How common is being “cut”

    What does uncut mean

Across Europe and many parts of the world, guys are still intact, whereas in North America up to 75 per cent of guys are circumcised – usually for no medical reasons.

However, some men have to have circumcisions due to a foreskin that doesn’t roll back, which can make erections and intercourse quite painful. It can also affect how well you are able to clean the head of his penis.

Of course, some religious people are circumcised such as Jewish and Muslim males.

There is a growing call for non-medical circumcision in young boys and men to be treated in the same way as Female Genital Mutilation.

In a recent poll conducted by THEGAYUK.com over 70 per cent of people, who voted, said that non-medical circumcision should be made illegal.

Currently, in the UK, the practice of religious or cultural FGM is illegal, while the religious or cultural circumcision for males is still sanctioned by the Government. It is thought that less than 20 per cent of males are circumcised in the UK.

  • Gay marriage linked to COVID-19, according to religious leader, Pat Robertson

Gay marriage linked to COVID-19, according to religious leader, Pat Robertson

Pat Robertson has doubled down on his anti-gay teachings by linking the current coronavirus pandemic with gay marriage and abortion.

When asked whether the world could ever be forgiven for its “sins” like abortion and gay marriage Robertson was keen to stress that we won’t be forgiven because mankind has broken its covenant with God. Actually we’ve apparently “violated his covenant”.

    Because… of course he did.

Using his TV platform, “The 700 Club” Pat was joined by his co-host, Terry Meeuwsen who read out a viewer’s question: “Pat, last week you were talking about COVID-19. You quoted Chronicles 7:14. How can God heal our land and forgive the sins when abortion and same-sex marriage are laws and many people are anti-Israel. Doesn’t this prevent his healing and forgiveness?”

    To which Robertson replied,

“You know, I think you put your finger on something very important. You know the Bible says — they turn from their wicked ways. They didn’t get forgiven. They will turn from their wicked ways. And part of what we’ve done is turn.

“We are not turning when we have done terrible things. We have broken the covenant that God made with mankind.

“We have violated his covenant. We have taken the life of the innocent, slaughtered them by the tens of millions. Children made in the image of God. And we have abused the poor.

I mean, we’ve allowed this terrible plague to spread throughout our society. And it’s a small wonder God would hold us guilty. But the answer is, you know, you confess your sins and forsake them. Then he heals the land. It’s not before. You are right”.

In 2013 Robertson was nominated as Bigot Of The Year by the LGBT+ charity Stonewall.

    Tragedy

However, like many people who have lost a family member during the COVID-19 pandemic, Colton has found that he can’t be with other family members as governments have installed lockdown or shelter in place rulings to help “flatten the curve” of the fast-spreading virus.

He wrote, “I just feel absolutely gutted that our family can’t be together to hold one another during this crippling time”.

Julie was twenty years older than Colton and they both have different mothers, however, according to Queerty, they were both incredibly close.

  • J Lo’s hairstylist has tips on how you can do your own hair at home

J Lo’s hairstylist has tips on how you can do your own hair at home

Lockdown means you can’t get your hair done right now, but Chris Appleton has some basic, easy to follow instructions on how to do your hair during the quarantine.

He’s most famous for being a celebrity hairstylist for the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian, but Chris Appleton has shared some tips on how to do your own hair (or at least get a partner or housemate to do it for you) at home, during the current COVID-19 lockdown.

If you’re not quite ready for a Joe Exotic style mullet, you might want to take the tips offered by Chris in an Instagram post he recently published. There are only a few steps to recreate that freshly barbered look – according to the stylist.

He starts the video saying that you’ll need four items for the perfect trim.

    1. Scissors
    2. Clippers
    3. Sectioning clips
    4. Comb.

He starts off by explaining that you’ll need to section off the hair, so you know what is going to be short and what parts are going to be long. Sectioning the hair also helps you keep focused on one part of the head at a time.

He also suggests that you use a razor number length that is a bit longer than you’re used to. He suggests a number 4 to begin with because it will leave you a little longer to play with – just in case things go wrong.

Chris then suggests that you start in front of the ear with the razor in an upward motion towards the top of your head while moving slowly towards the back of the hair. Once you’ve done one side, you’ll be ready to start on the other side of your head.

Once you’re finished with that you’ll need to start grading the hair to the top part.

It gets a little bit more complex, but you do this with your scissors and you start from the back and move forward to the front.

  • Doctor warns: Stop hooking up during Covid-19 lockdown

Doctor warns: Stop hooking up during Covid-19 lockdown

The medical director at the UK’s leading HIV charity, Terrence Higgins Trust has said people need to stop hooking up during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Doctor Michael Brady, the medical director at THT has warned that people need to stop meeting for sex and look for other ways to “find sexual pleasure in other ways”.

In a post published on the THT website, the Doctor said,

“I’ve never been an advocate of promoting abstinence, but this message is not about protecting your sexual health: it’s about protecting your general health and those around you from a virus that can be deadly. This is extraordinary and unprecedented advice for us to be giving out, but these are extraordinary and unprecedented times.”

    Lockdown and Hooking Up

    (C) BIGSTOCK

Earlier this week, Prime Minister Boris Johnson outlined new, stricter rules about leaving our homes during the Covid-19 outbreak. These were:

    • Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (where this absolutely cannot be done from home)
    • Stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people
    • Wash your hands as soon as you get home

With the country under stricter rules surrounding lockdown, Dr Brady says we shouldn’t be having sex with anyone outside our current households.

    He added,

“This advice means that, unless you have sex with someone within your household, it’s important to find sexual pleasure in other ways. Despite the situation with COVID-19, we need to remember that sex is an important part of life, but right now we have to find other ways to achieve sexual pleasure and satisfaction.

    He continued,

“It’s only natural that we look to sex for pleasure, to relieve stress and anxiety or simply to pass the time – whether that’s with a regular partner or using hook-up apps. But our ‘new normal’ is that we have to find ways to do this while sticking to the advice to stay at home. This isn’t just to protect ourselves against the coronavirus but also to protect the most vulnerable in our society.

“You are your safest sexual partner”

Dr Brady finished up by adding that during this time, that instead of seeking sexual contact with other people, take we take matters in our own hands.

    He said,

“I never thought I’d say this but the reality is that, for the time being, you are your safest sexual partner. It’s time to stay at home, stop close contact with people outside our household and to be creative about how we manage our sex lives”.
