  • REVIEW | George Michael Fantasy

When the announcement that there would be new George Michael music… I was terrified, disappointed, excited and desperate in equal measure.

You see, usually the release of the previously unheard of material or remixed material never does the memories of a dearly departed icon, such as George Michael, justice.

I was, I’m loathed to admit, disappointed with Michael’s latest work –  2012’s “White Light” was, to me, terrible. He launched it during the closing ceremony of the UK Olympics – and well, it didn’t quite hit the spot. Even after the massive exposure, the song limped to number 20 in the iTunes chart.

It was a far cry from his works on Older, Patience or Faith albums. And maybe that’s the problem with George Michael (or us, his fans) – he’ll always be revered for his 80s and 90s output and that’s why today’s release is genius.

Nile Rodger’s reworking of “Fantasy” restores the vision and with a contemporary sensibility. It’s sexual, edgy and unmistakably George’s work.

The song’s choppy, edgy production sits well along with current hits – but it’s unmistakable in its George Michealness – the Faith era rips right through it, which will be sure to please hardcore GM fans whilst opening up his music to an entirely new generation of fans.

Nile Rodgers proves, once again, that he is the producer, not only of the 70s, 80s and 90s but is – without a doubt giving this generation of producers a run for their money.

  • The Kilted Coaches reveal if they’re gay or not

Those mostly naked “kilted coaches” have revealed a whole lot of themselves…

So the kilted pair first met doing a paper round 20 years ago – and the rest, as they say, is history…

But apparently the lads keep on getting one question over and over – are they gay (and together)

So watch the video – it’s a long one, but skip ahead to 11.35 for the big reveal, but not before disclosing that they are both family men with kids. But guys, if you’re hoping for a bit of a Scottish Brokeback Mountain love up, you’ll be disappointed…  The dynamic duo opens up, however about the homophobic internet trolls that live in their comment sections – before adding, “our sexual orientation shouldn’t come into it”.

Too right – we’re not watching because you might be gay… we’re watching because you’re super hot and get naked… a lot.

Anyway watch the lads have a natter about life together (but not together… together)

  • 16 quotes that prove First Wives Club is the campest film ever

    I had guests…

Back in the mid-90ss, 1996 to be precise, three of our favourite divas (and a whole host of others) got together to create the gayest film on earth – the First Wives Club… Here are just some of the quotes that made the film epic.

    Elise on Plastic Surgery

“Plastic surgery is like good grooming, it’s like brushing your teeth.”

Elise on the best decade ever…

    “It’s the 90’s, for God’s sake”

     Elise on ageing

Morris: You’re 45! If I give you one more facelift, you’re going to be able to blink your lips. I mean, don’t you want to be able to play a part your own age?

Elise:”My own age?” No no. You don’t understand. There are only three ages for women in Hollywood; “Babe”, “District Attorney”, and “Driving Ms. Daisy.” And right now, I want to be young. Science-fiction young.

    Brenda on Elise’s Plastic Surgery

    “Honey she’s quilt”

    Doctor Packman on Elise’s lips

If I give you one more face lift you’re going to be able to blink your lips!

    Brenda on Elise’s drinking?

Let’s examine the evidence… (empties out a huge amount of empty bottles of booze)

    “I had guest”

    “Who? Gun N’ Roses?”

    Brenda on Elise’s drinking

Elise: I drink because I am a sensitive and highly strung person.

Brenda: No, that’s why your co-stars drink.

    Elise on being an actor

You think that because I’m a movie star I don’t have feelings. Well you’re wrong. I’m an actress. I’ve got all of them!

Sometimes it wasn’t even the quotes that were iconic…

    It was the looks…

There was even a Trump moment… who reminded us not to get mad…

“Ladies, you have to be strong and independent, and remember, don’t get mad, get everything”.

    Elise has a fan

  • Are British men’s peens just average?

Are British men’s peens just average?

So studies have found that British willies are average. Just average guys!

Now according to Mandatory.com average erect penis sizes have been collected and collated from 80 countries across the world and a table of length has been drawn up. Someone clearly had a very productive day in the graphics department. So where was the UK’s placement?  Well, it’s exactly average. You see that orange column – yep we’re in there. Not even in the yellow… and you can forget the green column.

The longest average erect penises are apparently in the African country of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (7.1 inches) and the smallest are in North Korea with 3.8 inches.

The average of the averages is 5.5 inches and that’s exactly where the UK is, beating the likes of the US (5.1 inches) and China (4.3 inches) but drawing with New Zealand, Ukraine and Canada.

According to Mandatory.com the correct way to measure the penis is from the tip of the penis to the very bottom of the pubic bone and apparently, only 3% of the world’s men have a dick over 8 inches. You can watch David Wavey just proper instructions here.

We can’t actually believe someone was paid to measure all those dongs…

  • Rami Malek is stunning as Freddie Mercury

The Mr Robot star Rami Malek looks stunning as Freddie Mercury.

The first picture of Mr Robot star Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury for a biopic about the iconic singer has been released – and he looks incredible.

The picture was released by Entertainment Weekly.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Rami said, “When you’re able to open your eyes and see a different person staring back at you in the mirror, it’s a very affirming moment”.

The film, directed by Bryan Singer about the life and times of Freddie Mercury and the iconic rock band Queen.

Bohemian Rhapsody will be out (out Dec. 25, 2018) and chronicles Queen from 1970, when Mercury teamed with Brian May and Roger Taylor, until the band’s performance at Live Aid in 1985. The film ends six years before the singer died of complications from AIDS.

Malek admitted that he’s currently recording, in London’s Abbey Road studios, some of Freddie’s epic songs – but the film makers are planning to use original recordings and re-recorded works.

  • Ginger men are getting more sex than ever… thanks to one man

Ginger-haired men are getting more sex – thanks to the ‘Ed Sheeran effect’, a study has revealed.

    Markus Hillgärtner, http://www.markushillgaertner.de
    Markus Hillgärtner, http://www.markushillgaertner.de

Red-headed males have been ridiculed since the dawn of time due to their pale skin and inability to tan and were even once considered to be a genetic mutation,

Throughout history even a string of notable Royals including King Henry and Queen Elizabeth I have fallen victim to the ‘Ginger curse’

But busker-turned platinum-selling pop artist Sheeran, 26, has finally made ginger cool, and his fellow flame-haired males are reaping the rewards by “getting lucky” between the sheets.

A poll of red-headed British blokes found one in five 25 to 34-year-olds have had more attention since Sheeran shot to fame.

A spokeswoman for www.casumo.com, which commissioned the study among 175 ginger men and 1,000 women, said, ”It’s unsurprising that red-heads are attracting more attention now than in previous years.

”Donning fiery red locks are popular among both male and female celebs with stars like Emma Stone and Isla Fisher leading the way for red-headed women.

”Ed Sheeran has shown how his appearance has no affect on his talent and more people are embracing their natural colour.

”It seems that when it comes to gingers, the brighter the better.”

Ginger blokes even went as far to say they are getting fewer jokes surrounding their hair colour – and some even said they now get more compliments.

The ‘Ed effect’ is even boosting the confidence of some red headed blokes, with some finding more strangers starting conversations with them as a result.

When women were asked to reveal their opinions on ginger men, over a third agree there are now more positive perceptions around coppery curls since Ed Sheeran arrive don the scene.

One in twenty females now even prefer red-heads over other hair colours, with Auburn being the top choice following by strawberry blonde tresses.

The study also revealed one-quarter of copper-topped blokes agree the public have a more positive outlook on red-heads since Ed Sheeran began reigning the charts.

One in five gingers have even been told they look like the chart-topping singer, with over a third of 18 to 24-year-olds reporting cases of mistaken identity.

The Casumo.com spokesperson continued, “We’re glad to see red heads are getting lucky, but they needn’t be the only ones.

“We give our players the chance to strike it right every day regardless of their hair shade, with plenty of colourful games to choose from”.

The study also voted red-headed royal, Prince Harry, as the most attractive ginger followed by Ewan McGregor and Damien Lewis.

Ironically, Ed Sheeran fell just short of the top three as the fourth most eye-catching copper celeb.

Eddie Redmayne was picked as a popular piece of copper eye candy by more than one in ten females, followed by Benedict Cumberbatch of which some people aren’t aware is a natural red head.

Star of the Harry Potter film series, Rupert Grint also made the cut in the top ten, followed by Rob Kazinsky, Paul Bettany and comedy actor and writer, Simon Pegg.

TOP TEN MOST ATTRACTIVE MALE GINGER CELEBRITIES

  • 10 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Simon Cowell

He’s probably the most powerful music man in the UK – but what do we really know about Simon Cowell?

    Is simon cowell gay

So we decided to find out 10 things that you probably didn’t know about Simon Cowell.

    How old is Simon Cowell?

Simon Cowell is the second youngest judge on the X Factor Panel, after Nicole. Of course, Louis is the oldest whilst Sharon comes in a close second. Simon Cowell was born in October 1958 which makes him 57/58 in 2017.

    Is he gay?

Simon Cowell has denied that he is gay, although there are definitely rumours circling around about the judge’s personal life. These rumours came to a head in 2014 when pop singer Tulisa’s manager, seemingly outed him during a court hearing. Jurors during the trial heard Tulisa’s manager, Gareth Varey, telling ‘Fake Sheik’ Mazher Mahmood that Simon Cowell was gay in a secret recording. Simon’s representation strenuously denied the declaration. Mr Varey later apologised saying he was “drunk” when it said it.

Simon is partnered with Lauren Silverman and together they have one child, Eric who was born in 2014.

Who is Simon Cowell’s most successful act?

Simon Cowell has signed countless of deals, mainly with the acts he finds on the X Factor and his Got Talent franchise, the most successful of which is One Direction, the chart topping world-favourite boy band from X Factor and Susan Boyle from Britain’s Got Talent.

His first major UK success, however, was the duo, Robson and Jerome, from the hit TV series Soldier Soldier. Together they recorded a version of “Unchained Melody” which became an instant chart success. It was number one for seven weeks. According to legend, the group made Simon his first million.

Which is the act Simon Cowell regrets the most?

We can only imagine that Honey G is Simon’s regret – having signed her post the 2016 series of X Factor for one single, she managed to scrape in the low 100s in the chart, making her the worst performing major label signed artist. He also signed Zig and Zag (from Big Breakfast) back in the day – but he’s probably not so embarrassed by them because they were one of his biggest early successes.

He also signed the Teletubbies and Power Rangers – but hey if they’re paying your bills – there’s nothing to be embarrassed about.

Has Simon Cowell had plastic surgery?

Simon has admitted in the past to using Botox… That thick lush of hair on his head though is completely natural…

How many times has Simon Cowell been a judge on the X Factor?

Simon has judged X Factor 11 times – he was part of the original judge line up in 2004  and stays part of it until 2010 when he took a break. He came back in 2014.

Has Simon Cowell got any special talents?

A little-known fact about Simon is that he’s also credited for being a songwriter… Although we’re not sure exactly how much he takes part in the process. One of his most successful co-writes is “Footprints In The Sand” by Leona Lewis, which reached number 2 on the UK singles Chart.

Which act managed by Simon was the least successful?

There have been so many hits and misses signed to Simon’s Sony backed label, Syco. A few of the misses include Ronan Parkes, Loveable Rogues, Same Difference, Reggie and Bollie and Honey G.

    What was Simon’s first job?

Simon Cowell’s first job was working as a runner on Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining – but apparently, he did not last long in the position. Cowell got his start in the music business, when his father, Eric, then an exec at EMI publishing, got him a job in the mailroom. The rest, as they say, is history.

Who is Simon Cowell a fan of?

According to legend, Simon Cowell thinks that Christina Aguilera’s power ballad, “Beautiful” is one of the best songs ever written.

  • DVD REVIEW | Hedwig And The Angry Inch

★★★★★ | Hedwig And The Angry Inch

I’ve got to say, I’m not a big fan of film musicals, but when I was introduced to Hedwig and the Angry Inch, this all changed. I’m a huge fan of John Cameron Mitchell, who plays the lead: Hedwig, a transgender entertainer who surgically changes sex in order to leave a segregated war-torn Germany for a life of stardom (she hoped) in the USA.

The film follows Hedwig and her merry bunch of band mates following Tommy Gnosis, a world famous rock star, whom she wrote songs with before he got famous. Gnosis, once famous, denies Hedwig’s existence.

The music is bitter sweet, with toe thumpers: “Wig In A Box” and thought-provoking ballads, like “The Origin Of Love”.

At the core of this bright and brilliantly directed piece is a sad iconic transgender person, whose hair (slightly resembling a late Farah Fawcett) is looking for recognition, both for her music and for her Angry Inch…

The soundtrack is a sound buy!
