    Although Rami Malek has appeared in numerous films and TV series it is arguable that he first came to public awareness when Amazon Studios released their stunning and critically acclaimed tech drama, Mr Robot. Before that show he was pretty much unknown. However, since then his role as Freddie Mercury in the multi-award winning Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, he has been catapulted to household name status.

    He was also reported that he dated another co-star, Portia Doubleday who appeared alongside Rami in Mr Robot. According to US Weekly, the couple split in 2017.

    What data has been compromised by the Jack’d bug?

    According to sources, the gay dating and hook up app, Jack’d has got a bug which is allowing people to access private data. Here’s what is at risk.

    As the Register announced on Tuesday, anybody with an internet browser can get access to Jack’d’s user’s photographs, regardless of whether they are set to private or whether they have been shared or not.

    The app, which has been downloaded over 100,000 times and boasts hundreds of thousands of users, gives gay and bi men a chance to talk each other up, trade private and open pics, and orchestrate meetings.

    “Known about the security concerns for several months”

    The Register says that the app’s creators have known about the security concerns for several months.

    There is no requirement for users looking to get access to private data to prove their right to access or even agree to accept the application’s terms of use.

    Jack’d says the application has five million customers in nations around the globe.

    Mark Girolamo, chief executive of Jack’d parent company Online Buddies said, “Our tech team is aware of the photo vulnerability and has already programmed the changes for this fix.

    “They will deploy the fix this Thursday, February 7.”

    Users who may not be out to their families or co-workers chance having their sexuality uncovered, while the bug puts users in danger of torment or blackmail by potential abusers.

    San Francisco-based reporter Sean Nichols writes: “The app should place strict access restrictions on which images should be viewable so that if one user allows another user to see a [picture], only the receiver should be allowed to see it.”

    Nichols recommends users may want to remove their private photos until the fix has been implemented.

    Don Shirley is the subject of a brand new biopic film called Green Book and in it, the filmmakers’ touch on Don’s private and romantic life – including a scene where Don embarks on a fling with another man.

    Don, who died in 2013, at the age of 86, was notoriously tight-lipped about his romantic life, but we do know that he was married to a woman called Jean C. Hill. However, they divorced. He said in an interview that he chose music and his career over his marriage, explaining, “I didn’t have the constitution to do a husband act as well as a concert pianist act because I was dead set on being what I had been trained all my life to be.”

    In the film, it alludes to Don being gay, however, he never actually came out or confirmed any of the rumours. The film was co-written and produced by Nick Vallelonga, the son of Frank Anthony Vallelonga Sr., who is portrayed in the film.

    It is worth noting that Don’s family have hit out at the film’s accuracy, calling it a “symphony of lies”. They say they were not consulted by the film makers during the making of the movie. Don’s nephew Edwin expressed that his uncle’s depiction was “very harmful” and “100 per cent wrong.”

    Speaking about his brother’s sexuality, Edwin said, “He was as open about his sexuality as he thought it was anybody else’s right to know.” Edwin offered as an example, “If you were to ask him, ‘Dr. Shirley, are you gay?’ He might answer, ‘Why? Are you interested?’ If the answer was, ‘No,’ then he’d say, ‘Well, it’s none of your business,’”

    However the truth is that Don may not have publicly acknowledged his sexuality, he may have been bisexual.

    Thanks to the release of the Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, Jim Hutton’s involvement with Freddie Mercury has come to light. But how and when did the megastar’s partner die?

    Sadly Jim Hutton died in 2010, nearly two decades after the passing of Freddie Mercury but thanks to the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody the general public are finally able to know the name of one of Freddie’s most enduring relationships.

    Freddie and Jim were together for the last years of the singer’s life, during the late 80s and very early 90s. According to Hutton when Freddie died he was wearing a wedding ring that Hutton had given him. However since it was 1991, same-sex marriage was not legal and therefore there would have been no legal relationship to speak of.

    Jim Hutton, was born in 1949. He died in 2010, nearly 20 years after the death of his partner Freddie Mercury. The Irish man died on the 1st January, just three days before what would have been his 61st birthday He died at the age of 60 from lung cancer.

    Before he died he wrote a memoir on his relationship with Freddie, called Mercury and Me and included several unseen, candid photos of Freddie and himself. The couple were extremely secretive during Freddie’s life.

    Cisnormative is one such word and its meaning is simply the typical or expected behaviour from a particular gender role: at its simplest the binary of Man and Woman.

    So as an example, if you’re born male, grow up and are treated as a male, it might be considered cisnormative for him to play with toy soldiers, like football or have his bedroom colour blue.

    In the same way, it would be considered cisnormative for a girl to grow up liking and dressing in pink and playing with dolls.

    A person living a cisnormative life is a cisgender person who dresses and acts in a way which might be described as typical for their gender and biological sex.

    Many of these choices are actually impacts from parental decisions rather than a child’s actual wishes. This was proven in a recent BBC two documentary called Gender Free.

    Misogynoir is a word that was coined by queer, androgyne black feminist Moya Bailey, which describes a type of discrimination that is experienced by black women.

    Bailey created the word to describe misogyny directed at black women, where their race and gender both play a role in bias.

    According to Wikipedia, the term was first used by Bailey in the Crunk Feminist Collective blog to raise awareness of the misogyny toward black women in hip hop music.

    The term “transmisogynoir” was coined by Trudy of Gradient Lair and created to refer to the intersection between transmisogyny and misogynoir, meaning the oppression of trans women of colour. Transmisogynoir is the intersection of transphobia, misogyny, and antiblackness.
