Police say a man in his 50s is in a critical condition after collapsing in a Liverpool city centre sauna.
A Blackpool man in his 50s is in a ‘critical’ condition after falling ill at the Splash sauna in Liverpool’s city centre.

Police attended an emergency call at the sauna when the unnamed man, 54, was taken ill in the Splash sauna.
His condition is stable and an investigation is underway.

A spokesperson for the police said,

“The 54-year-old man, from Blackpool, was taken to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital shortly after 6pm after collapsing in the sauna.
“…an investigation is underway after a man collapsed in a Liverpool city centre sauna.”
In November a man died in a sauna in Newcastle. Police investigated the death but it was not treated as suspicious.
