Gay men can now donate blood in Israel, but not US
Israel announced Monday that it would be lifting a ban on gay and bisexual male blood donors, a change that has not been made in the United States. Israel’s national emergency service Magen David Adom devised a “double testing” system that allows blood banks to screen donations twice, allowing gay and bisexual men to make immediate donations, according to the The Times of Israel. Homophobic abuse on the UK’s train system continues with another incident
Police are appealing for information after a passenger was homophobically abused by a fellow passenger.
A passenger on a train travelling between London and Birmingham on the 23rd December was homophobically abused while waiting to use the onboard toilet, British Transport Police say.
The passenger who is 23, was waiting to use the toilet when a fellow passenger allegedly started to make homophobic comments.
Onboard CCTV shows the man later putting another passenger, a teenage boy in a headlock.
The individual that police would like to speak to alighted the train in Wolverhampton. If you know the man picture BTP would like to hear from you.
They told us, “Hate crime of any description will not be tolerated on the rail network”.
Do you recognise the man in this image? Officers would like to speak to him as they believe he may have information which could help the investigation.
String of homophobic incidents
This incident is just the latest in a string of homophobic attacks that have taken place on the UK’s train system. In early December a man allegedly abused two women, and two teenagers were arrested following an attack where a young man was forced into a headlock and told to apologise for being gay.
In November, another man was “punched repeatedly” outside Charing Cross station, just a few hundred meters from one of London’s highest-profile gay clubs, heaven.
In September a woman hurled homophobic abuse at two men on a train between Havant and Pulborough, with one of the victims suffering an injury after the women threw a glass jar at them.
In September, three teenagers pleaded guilty to attacking two boyfriends on a train in Ealing. They were jailed for their attack.

India Willoughby: Women like me are drowned out by the LGBT narrative
India Willougby has hit out at the LGBT+ community saying that women like her have been silenced.
Celebrity Big Brother housemate, India Willoughby has said that she feels that ‘women like her’ have been drowned out by the current “LGBT narrative that is going on”.
The trans newsreader, who has already criticised the genderfluid and non-binary community for what she feels “cheapens” the seriousness around transgender issues, was expressing how she felt men in the house would be more comfortable flirting with Shane Jenek (Courtney Act) because “he’s a gay guy” than herself, because she’s a trans woman.
Shane was quick to point out that perhaps it was most likely because of his demeanour not just because he was a gay guy.
India went on to explain that it was part of the problem of being “hitched” to the LGBT community.
Shane responded by reminding India that women like India have actually been “uplifted” by the community. He told India, “… the LGBT has enabled you to be here and have this voice… by lobbying, essentially, with the LG and the B… we now have an environment where someone can be trans and be a newsreader”.

Actually, it seems Tim Farron does think gay sex is a sin
Tim Farron misled the British people on his views on homosexuality – can he ever be trusted again?
Former Liberal Democrat leader, Tim Farron, who was asked repeatedly during the General Election 2017 whether he thought gay sex was a sin or not has revealed that he actually regrets some of the things he said during the GE2017.
Farron stepped down as the party’s leader shortly after the results of the General Election were announced.
Today during an interview with Premier Christian Radio the MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale said that he had felt under pressure to mislead the public on his true thoughts about the subject and that he had regrets for some of the things he said during the many times he was questioned about his beliefs.
He told them,
“The bottom line is, of course, I did [feel pressured] and there are things – including that – that I said that I regret.
“There was a General Election and all they wanted to do was talk about my Christian beliefs. I foolishly and wrongly attempted to push it away by giving an answer that frankly was not right.
He added, “I found myself in a situation, partly because of events beyond my control and partly because of things that were my fault, where I either had to be compromising my faith and say things that were not true – or be true to my faith, and be in a situation where I sucked all of the attention away from our main message.”
Dodging gay questions
During the election, the Prime Minister hopeful repeatedly dodged questions about his beliefs. He finally, during an interview on the BBC, said specifically that he didn’t think that gay sex was a sin. The week before he told the House Of Commons that he didn’t think that being gay was a sin.
During his time as an MP, according to TheyWorkForYou.com Farron has for voted for gay equality six times, once against and was absent for three votes.
‘Christians have a clear idea of what sin is’
Continuing with Premier Christian Radio, Farron said,
“It’s tricky really. In the end, if you’re a Christian you’ve got a very clear idea of what you think a sin is. It is us falling short of the glory of God. That is something that all of us share.
“To be asked that question is to persecute one group of human beings, because sin is something we are all guilty of.
“If you’re not a Christian, what does sin mean? It’s to be accused of something, it’s condemnatory. We’re talking different languages.
“Maybe I could have explained that, and the Biblical teaching on sex and sexuality. But let’s be brutally honest, with the exception of programmes like this you don’t get more than 20 seconds to get your message across.”

THE GREATEST SHOWMAN – The already award-winning musical of the original showman PT Barnum celebrating the birth of show business itself with all original songs including the best new gay anthem in 30 years… and it is now climbing up the pop charts.
Nutshell – The greatest entertainer of all time in a classic rags to riches story of how he discovered that ‘freakshows’ and different people were of interest to the paying public if presented with fantasy and imagination and how he gave them all respectability. It goes from bankruptcy to the most famous three-ring circus shows of all time in Victorian era New York. With 11 songs that will be new to your ears which is unusual in this Mamma Mia, Chicago, Disney Musical era but many of them soon grow on you especially the big set piece ones. The movie Hugh Jackman has waited his whole life to make.
Running Time – 105 minutes – PG.
Tagline – ‘From The Writers and Producers Of La La Land‘.
THEGAYUK Factor – Well it is a musical to start with and visually spectacular a la Moulin Rouge and this is about outsiders with public taste campaigning against them like black trapeze artists, midgets and bearded ladies with a good-looking penniless orphaned hero. It all comes together in the incredible new gay anthem “This Is Me” which will replace “I Am What I Am” from La Cage Aux Follie as the ultimate gay anthem from a musical in no short space of time. This movie is as gay as Kylie in drag belting out “It’s Raining Men” as she enters the Big Brother house.
Cast – Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson and the king of the abs fresh from The Baywatch beach Zac Efron.
Key Player – The three men here Justin Paul, Benj Pasek who together wrote all the numbers and Jackman who carries most of them off with aplomb. There is not really a bad tune here and all 11 have now entered the pop charts with the gay anthem getting the highest spot straight in the Top Ten even before it started picking up awards.
Budget – $84 Million but it looks a lot more expensive maybe some good CGI. Brokeven in seven days and like all musicals, it tends to find its real home on DVD and TV with repeat viewings – this is the first money spinner of the New Year.
Best Bit – 0.59 mins; The big set piece showstopping number “This Is Me” which has already won The Golden Globe for Song Of The Year and will now be the surefire Oscar winner in a few weeks time. The film’s misfits belt out these great gay-friendly lyrics and boy does it build, as Alex Zane announced on Sky it is the first key change ever that made him weep. Download this song now before every drag queen in the land gets their hands on it.
Worst Bit – 0.05 mins: There is a lot to get through here and this leads to a slightly rushed finish and more annoyingly a mega rushed jerky beginning which simply does not engage. The rest is pure heaven.
Little Secret – Barnum’s American Museum was so popular that crowds stayed too long and he could not squeeze new paying punters in so he tricked them with signs saying “This way to the Egress” which the audience thought was a new attraction not realising it means exit until they found themselves outside on the street. In January 2017, the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus announced that their doors were closing forever, due to decreased attendance and protests by animal rights activists. Their last shows were in May 2017 they did not last to see the opening of this movie.
Further Viewing – Moulin Rouge, La La Land, Les Mis, Hugh Jackman’s warm-up musical, The School Of Rock, Hairspray, Phantom, Dreamgirls, Fame and Into The Woods if you must.
Any Good – The Golden Globe and now the BAFTA nominations don’t lie this is a great piece of film and a labour of love for the main star. Will the songs become evergreen favourites? Well, we hope so and they are a lot better than the 11 dirges in La La Land. If it starts picking up Oscars watch that soundtrack sell big time as already it is beating Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran. Jackman is ace and Efron learned his singing craft down at the High School Musical so you are in good hands here. If you like musicals this is a great addition and you don’t get many nowadays if not then stick with The Darkest Hour, Jumanji or Star Wars who will all happily take your money off ya instead.
Rating – 70% out of 100.

India Willoughby faces eviction after nominations from her Celebrity housemates
India Willoughby faces eviction from the Celebrity Big Brother house.
After receiving more nominations than any other housemate, India Willoughby‘s future in the Big Brother house is in jeopardy. As India’s name was called by each of her nominees, the live studio audience’s booing for India could be heard by all in the house, showing how unpopular India has become with the viewing public. India later remarked that she had become the panto villain.
In keeping with this year’s theme, Year Of The Woman, only the house’s women were able to nominate and here’s how they voted:

Amanda Barrie, who was accused by India of misgendering earlier this week, nominated the newsreader but gave reasons surrounding India’s decision to take Ann Widdecombe’s bed on the first night for her decision.
India was also nominated by Rachel Johnson, Ann Widdecombe, Ashley James, Jess Impriazzi, Maggie Oliver. A few other of the housemates also gave the bed snatching as a reason for their decision.
The first eviction will take place on Friday night, on Channel 5.
