The man who stabbed a girl to death at a gay pride march in Jerusalem has been found guilty of her murder.
The man who knifed a teenage girl to death at the Jerusalem pride march last year has been found guilty of her murder. Shira Banki was just 16-year-old when ultra-Orthadox Jewish man Yishai Shlissel stabbed her to death in the middle of the event.
Five others were wounded after Shlissel went on a murderous rampage through the pride parade. He left five others wounded.
Today he was found guilty of Shira Banki’s murder and six counts of attempted murder.
He carried out an attack that was similar and at the same pride event in 2005. He served 10 years in prison and had only recently been released when he attacked the parade again.
Eyewitnesses say they saw him stabbing pride goers, before being subdued by police.
Schlissel has refused counsel during his trial because he says he does not accept that the court is legitmate.
