All is not well at the X FACTOR USA camp as the Simon Cowell format suffered a 3m drop in viewers in comparison to last year’s season premiere.

The show which stars: Britney Spears, L.A. Reid, Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato as judges came under attack in the ratings as The Voice (US) went head to head in scheduling.

Figures show that Wednesday night’s X FACTOR premiere was watched by an average of 7.5m viewers whilst The Voice averaged 10.5m in the same time slot. This is also down 32% compare to average ratings for 2011.

Simon Cowell is reportedly very unhappy with the figures and has previously blasted NBC bosses for rescheduling The Voice‘s time slot to compete directly with his new show.

On hearing the news Cowell said that NBC Bosses were ‘political games’, saying:

‘This is a cynical, cold-hearted, unprofessional way of doing business.’

Moving the scheduling around has also meant that, not for the first time, Britney Spear and Christina Aguilera go head to head, this time it is for TV ratings not record sales.

Christina Aguilera yesterday unveiled her brand new track ‘Your Body’, from the forthcoming album ‘Lotus’ which see the pint size pop princess return with a catchy pop tracks.
