The Pitcairn Islands, a British Overseas Territory, in the South Pacific has legalised same-sex marriage in a small but significant victory for gay rights.

The 18.1 square mile island currently has just 56 inhabitants.

Tourism accounts for 80% of the Island’s income and one passenger ship provides the only access to holiday makers, who stay with families on the island for 3 or ten day trips.
