Even Prince Harry appreciates the Naked Rugby Players

The world-famous Naked Rugby Players are back hoping to raise even more money for cancer awareness and inclusive rugby.

The Naked Rugby Players’ calendar one of the Top 5 Charity calendars in the UK is returning again for 2023 with nearly 50 naked guys. Now in its 5th year, the  Naked Rugby Players’ calendar returns with 13 brand-new daring and cheeky photographs as well as a set of festive Christmas cards.

Five inclusive rugby clubs from around the UK stripped off earlier this year to raise awareness for both Inclusive Rugby and the importance for guys to check their tackle for lumps and bumps, in partnership with the Balls To Cancer charity. So far, the calendar has helped raise over £15,000 for good causes – and this year they want to smash their previous targets!

From Glasgow to Northampton, Newcastle to Bristol to Nottingham 45 rugged players bravely stripped off in a bid to spread awareness on male cancer and the importance of Inclusive Rugby.

Speaking about the 2023 calendar, Creative Director Jake Hook said, “It’s always a pleasure to get out in the open with rugby teams across the UK and this year we’ve managed to shoot the calendar in a variety of daring and exciting locations. I love how the players, always start a little shy, but within minutes of taking off their clothes, like magic, all their inhibitions have disappeared – sometimes it’s hard to get them to even put their clothes back on!

“As always we’re privileged to team up with the incredible Balls To Cancer charity, who provide much-needed awareness, support and resources for people living with cancer and their families.”

Fans of the calendar include Royalty, Prince Harry who greatly “appreciated” getting his copy and RuPaul’s Drag Race’s Baga Chipz who said, the calendar made her feel “Much Betta”.

200,000 men are diagnosed with cancer every year. 80,000 of those will die from their cancer. One in two men will suffer cancer in the UK during their lifetimes. Cancers which are detected early, such as testicular cancer, are beatable – but only if the message gets through that men should check their equipment regularly, which is why the Calendar features a cheeky monthly reminder.

As with all Naked Rugby Players’ calendars, a proportion of money raised through the sale of the calendar is donated to Balls To Cancer Charity and to the Inclusive Rugby clubs involved.

  • Why I Care for The Royal Wedding

Why I Care for The Royal Wedding

On Saturday, our Prince Harry becomes a married man, to actress Meghan Markle. Columnist Jack Strange writes why he’s raising a glass to the new married couple..

    Tumisu / Pixabay

If you didn’t know about this, then that’s understandable, seeing as it hasn’t been mentioned anywhere.

Oh wait, it’s been just about everything. The past week, in the build-up to the wedding, we’ve seen interviews with camera crews setting up outside Windsor, and we’ve also watched a real-life soap unfold regarding Meghan’s dad, who sadly won’t be at the wedding because of a heart problem.

Today, it was announced that Prince Charles will walk Meghan down the aisle.

It’s all very excessive to be talking about when you consider it’s only two people getting married, but of course, these aren’t your typical people.

They’re our monarchy; a royal family that have been in the public eye their whole lives. We’ve followed Harry since he was born, seeing him lose his mother tragically at such a young age, and seeing those pictures that leaked from Vegas.

Harry is undoubtedly our most down to earth royal. He’s a younger generation that has fought in the army, fighting for our country, and working endlessly to meet different people in different countries to enrich things such as the Commonwealth.

Meghan Markle, on the other hand, is a young woman that has lived her life in the limelight and happened to meet Harry because of a blind date. Undoubtedly, Meghan is feeling the pressures of this new limelight that has been put upon her. She can no longer act, and she even had to delete social media. Now, Meghan has to fit the role of a royal. Regal, helpful, a Good Samaritan.

But what we have with Meghan and Harry is something unusual. We have an American marrying into a family that have been traditionally British, albeit with German ancestors. It’s unusual, too, for Meghan to have had a public career before this. During the 2016 election, Meghan spoke out against Trump, an opinion that she will probably have to put aside now that she is such a public figure. What could have once been seen as problematic to the diplomacy of royalty has now been modernised.

Let us also not forget that The Royal Family bring the British economy a good source of income. Abolishing them, or dismissing them would be foolish. This wedding between Harry and Meghan alone will boost our economy by £1billion.

That £1billion comes from things such as tourism, PR, money spent in restaurants and on merchandise.

The whole world is watching the United Kingdom right now, and broadcast around the globe.

We should also see this as a testimony to our history. We are alive to witness history. Sure, it ‘may just be a wedding’, but it’s a wedding between two people that have the influence to change how we live, and how the world functions.

As humanitarians, both Harry and Meghan have a responsibility to uphold. Not only are we seeing two people in love tie the knot, but we’re celebrating something good.

We have bigger problems to face, sure, but for one day we should focus on the good. We should enjoy an enrichment of culture.

I, for one, wish the new couple a happy wedding day!

Prince Harry awareness campaign boosts HIV self tests

Prince Harry‘s campaign to create awareness on the importance of HIV testing has led to a dramatic increase in at-home HIV self test kits ordered from one of the UK’s leading HIV charities, Terrence Higgins Trust (THT).

The Prince made global news when he took a HIV test live on Facebook’s Live Platform.

THT launched an innovative pilot offering people the chance to find out their HIV status privately – in their own space, in their own time, on their terms – by taking a HIV self test and getting their results in just 15 minutes.

Over 4750 BioSure kits were sent out by THT before the pilot ended.

    Making HIV Tests Accessible

Dr Michael Brady, Medical Director for Terrence Higgins Trust, said,

“We know that one in six people living with HIV do not know that they have it. Testing puts you in control and, thanks to treatment, will stop you from getting seriously ill, enable you to live a normal lifespan and prevent you from passing the virus on to anyone else.

“That’s why it’s so important that we continue looking for new ways to make HIV testing more accessible to those most at risk, and why it’s fantastic to see the very tangible and immediate impact of Prince Harry’s support for HIV testing.”

Orders for the kits came in from across the UK, including Guernsey,  Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man, with the average age of those ordering coming in at 31-years-old.

    Sharing Results.

Half of those who ordered kits from the pilot scheme shared their results with THT, twenty-six of those who order the kits told the charity that they had a positive result. Each of these respondents got a personal call from Terrence Higgins Trust to discuss their result, provide support and ensure that they know how to access HIV care.

Chris, who ordered a kit said,

“The HIV home tests came within a few days and I had my results no longer than 30 minutes after opening the package. The instructions were clear and understandable, with the online step-by-step video explaining even further. Nothing at all could be misunderstood.”

The tests, which are normally £29.95 to buy from BioSure, were provided free of charge during the pilot and funded by Terrence Higgins Trust, but people receiving a test were given the option of making a voluntary donation to fund a test for someone else.

The scheme was made possible thanks to funding from the Terrence Higgins Trust Lighthouse Fund and BioSure.

You can now order self testing kits from Amazon.

Prince Harry has become the first Royal to publicly take a HIV test live on Facebook, using the platform’s “live” service.

The popular Prince visited London’s Guys and St. Thomas’ hospital to have the pin-prick HIV test, which reveals a person’s HIV status within minutes.

The video has already clocked up 41,000 views.

Leading HIV charity Terrence Higgins Trust praised the Prince’s openness and awareness campaign.

Ian Green, Chief Executive of Terrence Higgins Trust, said,

“Prince Harry’s decision to take an HIV test, live on social media, is a groundbreaking moment in the fight against HIV.

“Not only does it show His Royal Highness’s genuine and personal commitment to tackling the HIV epidemic, it will amplify a message to millions all over the world: testing for HIV is easy, quick and nothing to be feared.

“We have a real opportunity to end HIV transmissions in the UK, but it starts with each person knowing their HIV status. Too many people are either put off testing by the stigma that still surrounds HIV, or simply do not think HIV is an issue anymore. Today, Prince Harry has got people talking about HIV again and has normalised HIV testing to a global audience. In doing so, he could inspire a generation to take control of their sexual health.

“Thanks to treatment, testing for HIV could stop you from getting seriously ill, enable you to live a normal lifespan and prevent you from passing the virus on to anyone else. That’s why it’s so invaluable to have Prince Harry’s support  as we aim to bust stigma and end the HIV epidemic.”

Prince Harry & David Beckham top the men most people would like to spend a long weekend away with, according to new research.

The prince topped the poll of famous people Brits would most like to join them for a short break.

In second place is Friends favourite, Jennifer Aniston, followed by footballing megastar, David Beckham.

Commissioned by Best Western Great Britain hotels, 2,000 UK adults were surveyed to see who they would like to spend a quick getaway with.

Andrew Denton, Director of Communications at Best Western Great Britain hotels, which commissioned the study, said,

“The British public have spoken and crowned Prince Harry their King.

“He was a popular break date choice in the poll but you don’t need to be royalty to enjoy a perfect break.”

Aussie pop queen Kylie Minogue also featured in top 10, along with soap star, Michelle Keegan.

Some of the notable entries in the women’s list included veteran heart-throb Johnny Depp, X-Men star Hugh Jackman and singing sensation Adele.

While Luther actor Idris Elba and The Night Manager‘s Tom Hiddleston appeared too.

The findings follow a survey of 2,000 people which identified the signs you need are in need of break.

It found that if you repeatedly hit snooze on the alarm, forget a loved one’s birthday, or put milk in the cupboard and cereal in the fridge then the chances are you need a break.

Swearing more often, entering a room but forgetting why, and finding grey hairs also featured.

Having a messy house but not wanting want to tidy it, getting into a mild rage when queuing in the supermarket or eating more and more comfort food are also signs a break is needed.

While no longer having the energy to make small talk at work and over reacting when your work computer crashes are more reasons for some time away.

On average, people will put up with five different signs a break is needed before they will actually commit to going somewhere nice.

Other signs a rest might be a good idea include shouting at the telly more often and secretly wanting to dislike photos on Facebook when friends share their holiday snaps.

Realising you’ve consumed your weekly quota of wine when it’s only Wednesday also featured, along with accidentally leaving the house with your slippers still on.

Andrew Denton, Director of Communications at Best Western Great Britain hotels, said:

“The results show it’s time the great British public stopped struggling and gave themselves a proper break.

“We all know how easy it is to put up with everyday stresses, but it doesn’t need to be like that. Britain deserves a break and Best Western is here to help.”

  • Prince Harry’s Cheeky Nipple Tweak

    Prince Harry’s Cheeky Nipple Tweak

To be honest we didn’t have Prince Harry down as a nipple man, but the camera doesn’t lie!

Prince Harry, has an interesting way of giving luck to athletes – tweaking their nipples.

Okay we don’t know if that’s an on-going thing, but it’s definitely the way that he interacted with sportsman Ashley Coles.

Ashley Coles was about to compete in a Volleyball match for the UK against Afghanistan, in the  2016 Invictus Games, earlier this month, when he unexpectedly lifted his shirt to show the Prince his tattoo.

That’s when the 24-year-old Prince took his chance and tweaked the right nipple of the athlete.

Cole looks shocked by the interaction but both men laughed off the interaction. The tweaking was caught by the world’s media.
